King Tut dominates EOPM at
Coastal Plains |
 |
(11-21-2011)
JACKSONVILLE, NC – What ended up being a
three day race weekend for the Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mods at Coastal Plains Dragway,
25th Annual Mountain Motor Shootout, could
have very likely gone down in outlaw
doorslammer history as the closest outlaw
Pro Mod qualifying order ever. Chris
Rini was in the Best of the Best Quick 8
with a awesome 3.91 in his Charlie Buck
powered Camaro. |
|
Andy Beal was behind him
with a 3.925 in his Blown 63 Vette. The 2010 EOPM
Champion Dewayne Silance followed with a close
3.929 in his Charlie Buck powered Camaro. The new
Big Dogg Champ, Todd Howard made the show with a
3.934 in his Nitrous powered Mustang. Randy
Weatherford would be right behind him with a 3.941
in his Nitrous powered Camaro. Kevin Mayer in the
famed Pirate Ship Blown Willy's would be on his
heels with a 3.943. This would all place Northeast
Outlaw Pro Mod star, Steve Drummond in his Turbo
powered Mustang on the fastest EOPM bump ever with
a 3.956. That's right ladies and gentlemen a 3.91
down to a 3.956, but wait thats only seven cars.
Once again the man known around the world as
King Tut, who is a fierce competitor in the ADRL
Pro Extreme ranks, would rocket to the top of the
qualifying sheet with a new track, and club record
at a 3.819. The Carolina Kid Travis Harvey would
land in the number nine spot out the show with a
3.97. Steve Cossis would take the tenth seed with
a 4.02. George Williams would capture the eleventh
spot with a 4.03 and Tommy Mauney would finish
qualying in the number twelve spot with 4.043.
Ronnie Humphrey of Coastal Plains Dragway would
pay 9-12 $300. With twenty seven doorslammers on
the grounds the EOPM once again broke the car
count record at CPD which brang out many heads-up
doorslammer fans. Among those fans were a man and
woman who traveled from England to watch this
race. We are glad we did not disappoint as they
look forward to coming back next November after
making many fans in the EOPM pits.
We have
to thank all the racers who showed up at Coastal
Plains: Dwayne White, Andrew Handras, Dodd
Hamilton, Bubba Turner, Bobby Baucom, Jeff Blasi,
Ronnie Hood driving for Mike Johnson, Steve Vick,
Jeff Dobbins, Rod Houck, Kevin Rivenbark, Rocky
Raynor, Lorenzo Springfield, Edward Wilson, Tommy
Mauney, George Williams, Steve Cossis, Travis
Harvey, Steve Drummond, Kevin Mayer, Randy
Weatherford, Todd Howard, Dewayne Silance, Andy
Beal, Chris Rini, and Todd Tutterow. George
Williams would win the Hairy Glass Best Appearing
Car award.
The first pair up for the first
round of eliminations would be Dewayne Silance vs
Todd Howard in the JW Motorsports Mustang. Silance
would go .000 at the tree to a 3.95 over Howards
.053 bulb to a 4.10. Second pair out would be the
blown 63 Vette vs Randy Weatherford in his Nitrous
powered Camaro. Beal would go .043 at the tree
running a 3.96 to take the win over Weatherfords's
.096 bulb to a shaking 7.75. Kevin Mayer in the
blown Willys would come to the line against Chris
Rini next. Rini would go .000 at the tree running
a 3.919 to take the win over Mayers .154 bulb
running a 4.20. The last pair out would be the
number one qualifier Todd Tutterow in his blown
Camaro against the only north team to qualify,
Steve Drummond in his turbo powered Mustang.
Tutterow would take the win with a .077 light
running a 4.00 to Drummond's .013 bulb while
running a 4.08.
In the semifinal Todd
Tutterow would take the win over Dewayne Silance
as Chris Rini would run another 3.91 to take out
Andy Beal.
In the final Chris Rini and the
ATI Team would run another 3.91 with the Charlie
Buck horsepower but it wouldn't be a match for
King Tuts 3.82 blast.
As we come up on the
Thanksgiving holiday the EOPM staff have very much
to be thankful for. We thank the good Lord for all
he blesses us with each day, and bringing all the
racers home safely after all the events. We thank
each and every team who have ever competed with us
to support our desire to set a new standard in pro
mod racing as you are all our family. We have to
give thanks to Cliff Scott, owner of Xtreme
Motorsports for all his help as the new EOPM tech
man. We thank Ronnie Humphrey of Coastal Plains
Dragstrip for all his hard work over the weekend
and for believing in us. We thank Dell Purifoy and
his staff at eastcoastdragracingnetwork, Van
Abernethy of Drag Illustrated, and Tim Lewis with
RPM Magazine for covering the event. We thank all
the tracks that believe in us. We thank all our
sponsors who support us. Lastly we thank all the
wild doorslammer fans who come out to support us
at each track. Stay tuned as the 2012 schedule
will be released soon. Happy Thanksgiving
everyone!

FREDERICKSBURG, VA – Effective immediately,
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod (EOPM) is establishing
minimum weight requirements for the various
combinations that compete in the series. The
minimum weights are as follows:
Supercharger:
2,500 lbs.
Supercharger
Small Block: 2400 lbs Nitrous (carburetor & EFI):
2,300lbs. 5.00 Bore: 2,200lbs Turbo (small block): 2,100
lbs. Turbo (big block): 2,500 lbs.

These weight
requirements will be strictly enforced beginning
November 19th at Coastal Plains Dragway in
Jacksonville, NC. which is the EOPM's final race
of 2011, and the first points race of the 2012
season. |
"Due to the ever-increasing technology of these
cars, and the cost to build them, we have mandated
minimum weights for all the engine combinations,"
said EOPM co-founder Stuart Williams. "With the
racers, fans, sponsors, and venues in mind the
EOPM is committed to maintaining parity, and the
quality of our show. We will continue to closely
monitor the performance of the cars and if
necessary, adjust any rules to provide as even of
a playing field as possible," finished Williams.
We would also like to
take the time to welcome Cliff Scott, owner of
Extreme Motorsports, as the new official tech
representative of the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods.
Cliff who was recently at the 2nd Annual EOPM

Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals set for October 14th
and 15th at Dunn-Benson Dragstrip!! |
(9-8-2011)
BENSON, NC – The Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods will
hold its second annual EOPM Nationals at the New
Dunn-Benson Dragstrip on October 14th and 15th.
On October 14th there will be two rounds of
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod qualifying with two more
qualifying Saturday October 15th for the EOPM
"Best of the Best Quick 8". To be eligible for
this years Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals you
only need to compete in one EOPM event to earn
an invite.
The payout will be as follows: $6000 to the
winner, $1500 runner up, $1250 to semi finalist,
and $1000 to qualify. There will still be a Last
Man Standing Top Dawg Shootout for the cars
qualified 9-12 with $1000 to the winner, $500 to
runner up, and $300 for first round loser.
"We can't thank Roger and Brian Williams enough
for firmly supporting the EOPM in setting a new
standard in heads up doorslammer racing. Now we
want all racers to know that Dunn-Benson has
left it up to us if we break the money down for
a quick 16 field if we have a large car count as
we expect," said Stuart Williams of the EOPM.
"Therefore if there are over 30 teams, we will
have a drivers meeting before qualifying on
Saturday to vote on what the guys want to do,"
Williams finished. K&S productions will post an
EOPM Nationals invitation list after next
weekend's race at Dunn-Benson although teams
will have one more opportunity to become
eligible at Farmington Dragway on September
24th.
"There are over 70 teams to put on the invite
list. Man I'm glad I don't have that typing
job." said Shawn Kelly.
Last season the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals
required three events to be eligible to show
appreciation to the teams who made this club a
huge success in its first year. It is the staff
of the EOPM's hope that this event will grow
into something that is comparible to old school
Pro Mod racing where the fans know the pits will
be swamped with Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Teams all
coming together to put on a huge show to support
the class they love.
"We can't be the next ADRL as we have no
intention on splitting classes because we love
Pro Mod, but we would like to develop something
that has that old Dragstock feel to it with a
lot of doorslammers at an outlaw track without a
clue of who will make the field," said Shawn
Kelly of EOPM.
K&S Productions will be covering the Nationals
with their very best effort to give these
competitors the exposure they deserve while
giving the fans who can't make it terrific
coverage.
This promises to be the best heads up
doorslammer show on the East Coast with
Dunn-Benson's new objective of becoming an all
heads-up action facility. Heads-up doorslammer
fans will see the hottest club in the nation the
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods, also Extreme Outlaw 275
Drag Radial, and possibly Extreme Renegade along
with Extreme heads-up index classes. The EOPM
wants you all. Quick 8 Outlaws come on out,
Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association come on out
of hiding and represent your club with the best
of the best, and Dixie Pro-Modified Association
come be a part of history. Thanks to all our
competitors and sponsors for their support.

Blankenship
conquers Dunn-Benson with EOPM!! |
(7-18-2011)
BENSON, NC – On Saturday July 16th there was no
other place to be than the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod
Clash of the Titans event at the New Dunn-Benson
Dragstrip.
Being one of the many heads-up doorslammer fanatic
fans, I am still amazed at the support, and strength
that the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods showed at
Dunn-Benson by shattering the car count record at
that track again with twenty eight Pro Mods
attempting to qualify.
On top of that the EOPM once again brang new teams
to the New Dunn-Benson Dragstrip with ten new Pro
Mods appearing with several members of the worlds
fastest Powerglide Pro Mod club, the Quick 8
Outlaws, among them. They would be Rod Houck, Troy
Jordan, James Linton, Tracy Cockman, Frank Cersosimo,
Jason Harris, Travis Harvey, Ric Fleck, Danny
Blankenship, and Larry Smithey's first event with
the EOPM at Dunn Benson.

were on top of the sheets with Andy Jensen being
number one with a 3.93. Chris Rini would run a 3.96
for the second spot with the current EOPM points

be good enough for the third spot. Todd Howard and
the JW Motorsports Team would round out the top four
qualifiers after the first round with a 4.018. The
Carolina Kid Travis Harvey would run a 4.048 for the
fifth spot. Making the trip all the way from Florida
to compete with the EOPM, Fast Frank Cersosimo would
run a 4.058 to land in the sixth spot. The legendary
chassis builder Tommy Mauney would run a 4.059 for

Linton, and Marc Hayes would be in the 9-12 spots
for the first ever Last Man Standing Top Dawg

things would change drastically. The EOPM newcomer

a 3.91. The small block Turbo powered '68 Camaro of
Andy Jensen would hold the number two spot with his
3.936. The Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Champion, Dewayne
Silance in his Charlie Buck powered '68 Camaro would
run a 3.959 to take the number three spot in the
EOPM Best of the Best Quick 8. Chris Rini in his
Charlie Buck powered 69 Camaro would run a 3.964 to
qualify in the top half of the field at number four.
Rick Fleck representing the Quick 8 Outlaws in his
Blown '02 Corvette would run a 3.982 for the fifth
spot. Randy Weatherford would run a 3.994 to take
the number six spot in his Nitrous powered '69
Camaro. Tommy Mauney would run a 4.005 which would
be good enough for the seventh spot in his Nitrous

Terrell would add to his lead by qualifying in the
final eighth spot with his Blown Mustang running a
4.014.
First up for the first round of the "Best of the
Best EOPM Quick 8" would be Chris Rini taking on
Rick Fleck. Fleck would leave the tree first with a
.025 bulb to Rini's .035 bulb but Rini would blast
to a 3.94 as Fleck would go into severe tire shake.
The EOPM champ Dewayne Silance would take on Randy

for the win over Mauney as he shook the tires with a
.110 light. Last up would be Danny Blankenship who
would receive a bye run as Charles Terrell couldnt
make the call. Blankenship would match his
qualifying time with another stellar 3.91.
In the semi-finals Andy Jensen would take the win
ove Dewayne Silance with a 4.23 and a .023 reaction
time as Silance shook the tires after a .043
reaction time. In the other pair of the semi final,
Danny Blankenship would leave the tree first with a
.034 light to Chris Rini's .044 light after a
staging duel. Danny would go on for the win with a
3.98 as Chris shook the tires. That would leave us
once again with a showdown between EOPM North vs
EOPM South, as Andy Jensen would take on Danny
Blankenship in a true EOPM Clash of the Titans.
Danny Blankenship would simply steal the show as he
would run his third 3.91 pass to take the win over
Andy Jensen's 4.18.
In the first ever Last Man Standing Top Dawg
Shootout for the nine through twelve qualified cars
it would be Todd Howard taking the win over Travis
Harvey in the final due to Harvey red lighting.
Harvey who took out Jason Harris in round one would
run his fastest pass of the night with a 3.99.
Howard and the JW Motorsports crew ran there fastest
pass of the night in first round with a 3.98 to take
out EOPM newcomer Fast Frank Cersosimo in his Buck
powered Viper.

MOCKSVILLE, NC – This past Saturday, June 25th,
Farmington Dragway was the place to be for any

first time ever that the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods
competed at "the Farm".
The arrival of the hottest doorslammer club in the
nation to Don Plemmons' Farmington Dragway once
again showed the support that the EOPM gains from
racers up and down the East Coast, as it continues
striving to set a new standard in outlaw doorslammer
racing. The Farmington fans thirsty for heads-up
doorslammer action were in for a treat as they got
to witness the return of many teams who had not been
to the Farm in a while.
In the staging lanes for the three qualifying
sessions attempting to break into the Extreme Outlaw
Pro Mod "Best of the Best Quick 8" were Tori Cagle,
Wayne Chambers, Randy Weatherford, Todd Howard (JW
Motorsports), club sposor Andy Beal, Danny Perry
(Boone Racing), club sponsor Tommy Mauney, Greg
Godwin, Todd Tutterow, Sonny Tindal, Dwayne Wolfe,
Doug Winters, Buzz Varner, Rod Houck, Jamie Chappel,

the only team to represent the EOPM North. This
would be the return of Bobby Baucom and Buzz Varner
to the EOPM along with Jamie Chappel's, Rod Houck's,
and Billy Gordon's first event.
After three stellar rounds of Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod
qualifying the field for the EOPM Best of the Best
Quick 8 was set. The man known around the world as
King Tut, Todd Tutterow, would take the Speedtech
low qualifier honors and new club ET record with a
blistering 3.897 at 194 mph in his blown '68 Camaro.
The team of Godwin & Boozer would take the number
two spot with a 3.965 at 186 in their nitrous
powered '63 TM 'Vette. A 3.973 at 188 would put
Bobby Baucom in the number three spot in his blown
'68 Camaro. Andy Beal would finish qualifying in the
number four spot with a 3.994 at 188 in his blown
'63 'Vette. The EOPM North star Andy Jensen would
run a 3.996 at 184 to take the number five position
in his small block turbo powered '68 Camaro.
Legendary chassis builder and Pro Mod racer, Tommy
Mauney, would run a 4.029 at 196.38 for the number
six spot, and a new club speed record. Todd Howard
and the JW Motorsports team would place their
nitrous powered Ford Mustang in the seventh spot
with a 4.030 at 187 mph to be the only blue oval
team to qualify for the "Best of the Best Quick 8".
In the final eighth spot would be Danny Perry in the
nitrous powered ZR-1 Corvette with a 4.058 at 181 to
complete the field which held the largest Pro Mod
car count at "the Farm" in over five years.
Before the first round of eliminations Brad Boone,
car owner of the awesome Black nitrous powered ZR-1
Corvette, driven by Danny Perry, would be awarded
the Hairy Glass Best Appearing Car Award.
With
three blower cars, one turbo, and four nitrous car
set to battle the fans were ready for a war as they
had already seen five different teams run in the 3
second zone. In the first round of EOPM eliminations
Todd Tutterow would take the win over Danny Perry,
Bobby Baucom over Tommy Mauney, Greg Godwin over
Todd Howard, and Andy Beal over Andy Jensen.
In the semi-finals Greg Godwin in his nitrous
powered '63 Tommy Mauney 'Vette would face Bobby
Baucom in his blown '68 Camaro. Baucom would have a
starting line advantage with a .040 to Godwin's .054
but Godwin would run a 3.900 at 188 to take the win
over Baucom's 3.957 at 190. Greg would also have a
.940 60' time to Bobby's .999 60'. In the second
pair the Farmington fans would see Todd Tutterow in
his blown '68 Camaro face Andy Beal in his blown '63
'Vette. Beal would leave the tree first with a .011
bulb to Tutterow's .061, but Tutterow would run a
3.890 at 194 to muscle out the win over Beal's 4.05
at 157 while breaking a pulley. Todd would have a
.941 60' to Andy's .971 60'.
The Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod final would be set with
number one qualifier Todd Tutterow facing the number
two qualifier Greg Godwin. Without a final round run
sheet I can only say that Greg Godwin in his nitrous
powered 'Vette would take the win. The unofficial
numbers tell me that Todd ran a 3.85 to Greg's 3.87.
I do want to quote a fan/crew member who was at the
show that wrote on a message forum that it was a
good show at the Farm, the fans definitely got their
money's worth.
We have to thank our sponsors who support us in
setting a new standard in outlaw doorslammer racing.

Weatherford
takes Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Speedtech Low Qualifier
Award!! |
(6-21-2011)
BENSON, NC – On June 18th, the Extreme Outlaw Pro
Mods brung "the Show" back to the New Dunn-Benson
Dragstrip with the ongoing war between Nitrous and
Blowers once again being the center of attention.
In the staging lanes trying to break into the EOPM
"Best of the Best Quick 8" would be Andy Beal, Brian
Williams, Kevin Mayer, Bill De'Soto, and Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mod points leader Charles Terrell all
representing the supercharged entries, along with
Sambo Price, Danny Perry, Todd Howard, Tori Cagle,
Wayne Chambers, Dwayne White, Tommy Mauney, Steve
Vick, Charles Carpenter, Larry Pearce, Raymond
McNeil, Bonnie Gore, and ADRL star Randy Weatherford
representing the nitrous entries.
After three qualifying rounds in the heat, Randy
Weatherford would capture the Speedtech Low
Qualifier spot with a 4.001, in his awesome nitrous
powered '69 Camaro which had earlier won the Hairy
Glass Best Appearing Car award. The number two spot
would go to Tommy Mauney with a 4.019 in his Nitrous
powered '68 Camaro. Andy Beal would run a 4.020 in
his Blown '63 Vette to qualify third. Running a
4.049 would place the Blown Willys of Kevin Mayer in
fourth. Todd Howard representing the blue oval in
his Nitrous powered Mustang would run a 4.057 to
capture the fifth spot. Big Dogg winner Brian
Williams would run a 4.091 in his Blown Corvette to
take the sixth spot. Charles Carpenter would run a
4.104 to place his legendary Nitrous powered '55
Cheverolet in the seventh spot. Coming into the race
only 5 points behind the points leader, Steve Vick
would break into the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod "Best of
the Best Quick 8" field with a 4.140 in his Nitrous
powered '68 Camaro.
Before the first round of eliminations was called
the skies opened up with a bad wind storm, which
also dropped a lot of rain which put an end to our
day. By qualifying for the field Steve Vick would
get closer to the number one spot due to Charles
Terrell failing to qualify for the first time this
season. "This don't feel good at all. We made some
changes that didn't work out for us today. The good
thing is we don't have long to wait to redeem
ourselves with the EOPM going to Farmington this
weekend. We have to stay ahead of all these nos boys
who aint making it easy," said Charles Terrell.
This race also represented the start of the new Last
Man Standing Top Dawg Shootout for the EOPM teams
who qualify 9 through 12. Coming all the way from
Georgia, Tori Cagle would qualify at number nine
with a 4.145 just missing the bump. Wayne Chambers
would run a 4.239 to take the number ten spot.
Running a 4.272 would qualify Dwayne White at
eleventh. Doug Winters would run a 4.42 which would
be good enough for number twelve in his first outing
of the year. "I like what the Extreme Outlaw Pro
Mods have added with the Top Dawg Shootout for the
9-12 qualifiers. It gives those guys a chance to
have some fun and its definitely why I came to my
first EOPM event of the year" said Wayne Chambers.
We would like to thank Speedtech, Hairy Glass,
Santhuff's, Beal Racing Engines, Virginia Speed Race
Cars, Rogers Automotive, Hank Thomas Performance,
Lake Anna Motorsports, Buck Racing Engines, Williams
Concrete, Tommy Mauney Race Cars, and Custom T's of

Vick
brings EOPM MIR Trophy South!! |
(5-30-2011)
MECHANICSVILLE, MD – On Sunday, May 29th the Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mods teamed up with sponsor Larry
Thompson of Custom T's of DC to bring Maryland
International Raceway one of the best heads-up
doorslammer shows that the track has ever seen.
Flying the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod banner high and
proud at Budds Creek were JW Motorsports own Todd
Howard, Andy Jensen, Charles Terrell, Ed "Big Shot"
Burnley, Danny Perry, Marc "the Truth" Hayes, Steve
Vick, Jason Harris, Chris Rini, Dewayne Wolfe, Steve
Cossis, Bill Meadows, John Bartunek, Tommy Howes,
Kevin Fortney, Tim Essick, Mike Johnson, and Jimmy
Osbourne. We thank each and every one of these
racers for their participation, and effort which
turned into an amazing show in the Northeastern
area. We definitely have to give Royce Miller, and
the Maryland International Raceway staff a huge
thanks for a great racing surface all day through a
lot of work.
The JW Motorsports team, who traveled from North
Carolina had this to say, "This track reminds me of
Rockingham. It don't matter what the weather does,
it's gonna be good and have teeth. We have been
hearing about Budds Creek for many years and are
glad we finally had a reason to come here with the
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods for a really good show,"
said the team.
Also we have to thank Larry Thompson's staff for
having the faith in the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods to
bring us in to be a part of his Doorslammer
Nationals.
After three exciting rounds of Extreme Outlaw Pro
Mod qualifying for the Best of the Best Quick 8 the
order went like this: Dewayne Wolfe would run a
4.043 to find himself in the show at the eighth spot
in his blown 2001 Firebird. Running a 4.019 in his
small block turbo powered '68 Camaro, Andy Jensen
would qualify seventh. Ed "Big Shot" Burnley would
qualify sixth with a 4.007 in his nitrous powered
'67 Camaro. The number five qualifier would be
Charles Terrell in his blown Mustang running a
3.982. Todd Howard's nitrous powered 2008 Mustang
would run a 3.980 to take the number four spot.
Jason Harris would take the third spot with a 3.957
in his nitrous powered '68 Firebird. The number two
spot would go to Steve Vick in his nitrous powered
'68 Camaro after running a 3.952. Chris Rini would
run a 3.951 in his Charlie Buck powered '69 Camaro
to capture the Speedtech Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod #1
qualifying award. Chris and his crew chief Scott C.
had actually drove from Mooresville, NC Saturday
night to compete at Budds Creek.
With
an extremely tight field in qualifying the heads-up
doorslammer fans of Maryland expected eliminations
to be awesome with four North teams and four South
teams going to war. Choosing to hit the track first
would be the latest Speedtech low qualifier, Chris
Rini going against Dewayne Wolfe. Rini would have a
good advantage at the tree with a .062 light and
running a 3.950 to take the win over Dewayne's .128
light running a 4.06. Next out would be Todd Howard
against the current EOPM points leader Charles
Terrell. Todd would take the holeshot win with a
.075 light and running a 4.019 to Charles .093 light
while running a 4.013. The number three and six
qualifiers Jason Harris and Ed Burnley would be out
next. Ed would take the win with a .082 light
running a 4.012 over Jason's .106 light running a
4.001. Last out for the first round of Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mod eliminations would be Steve Vick and
Andy Jensen. Steve would take the win with a .158
light and running a 3.996 over Andy's .088 light
running a 5.24.
In the semi-finals it would be Chris Rini taking on
Todd Howard and Steve Vick taking on Ed Burnley. Two
North teams left along with two south teams, all
nitrous going head to head. Chris Rini would get the
win with a 3.97 over Todd Howard's 4.21 putting a
EOPM North team in the final. Steve Vick would take
the win with a 3.961 over Ed Burnley's 4.01 putting
a EOPM South team in the final.
In the final it would be Chris Rini leaving the tree
first with a .055 light to Steve Vick's .137, but
Vick would pick up his first Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod
win with a blistering 3.93 blast to Rini's 4.19.
Steve Vick faced a tough Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod
North team in each round of eliminations which
earned him the new nickname North Killer, but places
a huge target on his back for the next event at Dunn
Benson June 18th. In the tower after qualifying I
asked Mr. Royce Miller if he had he ever seen Pro
Mod racing that close. His reply was simple with a
smile. "That's the way it's supposed to be."
We have to thank Custom T's of DC, Buck Racing
Engines, Tom Tillman Race Cars, Speedtech, Williams
Concrete, Hank Thomas Performance, Santhuff's, Hairy
Glass, Roger's Automotive, Lake Anna Motorsports,
and Motorsports Unlimited Performance Distributors.

Pirate Ship
wins EOPM at Dunn-Benson!! |
(5-22-2011)
BENSON, NC – The place to be Saturday May 21st was
the New Dunn-Benson Dragstrip as the Extreme Outlaw
Pro Mods once again brung the EOPM Showdown. The
awesome heads up doorslammer fans of Dunn-Benson who
came out in the heat received a treat as twenty Pro
Mods attempted to qualify for the EOPM Best of the
Best Quick 8 show.
As we (the EOPM staff) gazed in the staging lanes
for qualifying we were ecstatic to see several drag
racing legends adding to the amazing field of teams.
Competing in his first Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod event
was Southern Pro Mod Legend Sonny Tindal. Longtime
IHRA Mountain Motor competitors Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Robinson were also returning to the racing world for
their first EOPM event. Former NHRA Pro Stock
competitor Joe Lepone Jr. was handling the driving
duties for Jim Teachman in his new Virginia Speed
Race Cars 70.5 Camaro. Could you imagine trying to
add up all the different tracks the three of these
longtime heads up doorslammer racers have competed
on, or how many passes they have made? The Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mods would like to take the time to thank
them and all other legendary heads up doorslammer
competitors for being pioneers in this class that we
love.
The tough field that these racers were part of
consisted of the 2010 Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod
Champion Dewayne Silance, the She Devil Carol Long,
Lorenzo Stringfield, Brian Williams, Mack Copeland
with the EOPM's fastest pro-charged car, Steve Vick,
Danny Perry fresh in black paint, Dave Leonardo,
Todd Tutterow, Kevin Mayer, Todd Howard, Charles
Terrell who is the current points leader, Kevin
Rivenbark, Wayne Hawkins, Bonnie Gore, EOPM sponsor
Andy Beal, and Ed Burnley who was the only
competitor representing the north.
"The showdown is great, but in order to get this
North vs. South Showdown really heated up, we will
be focusing on bringing all the EOPM North teams who
support us to one of the next shows at Dunn-Benson
to give the fans and the club itself one of the
rivalries that helps it be successful. We need those
guys," said joint director Stuart Williams. With
several EOPM South teams planning to invade the
North this weekend, as the Extreme Outlaw Pro
Modifieds head to Maryland International Raceway
things should get interesting.
After three spectacular rounds of Extreme Outlaw Pro
Mod qualifying the field would be set for the Best
of the Best EOPM Quick 8. EOPM Champion Dewayne
Silance would flex the muscle in his Charlie Buck
powered '68 Camaro to take the Speedtech #1 EOPM
qualifier spot with a 3.96. The current Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mod points leader, Charles Terrell would
run a 3.99 in his supercharged Mustang to take the
number two spot. The JW Motorsports nitrous powered
Mustang driven by Todd Howard would take the third
spot with a 4.001. Kevin Mayer in the dreaded Pirate
Ship supercharged Willys would qualify fourth with a
4.011. Danny Perry in his nitrous powered ZR-1 'Vette
would qualify fifth with a 4.014. Ed Burnley in his
nitrous powered '67 Camaro would take the sixth spot
with a 4.017. Steve Vick would take the seventh spot
with a 4.02 in his nitrous powered '68 Camaro. Andy
Beal would capture the final eighth spot with a
4.022 in his supercharged '63 'Vette to make the
Best of the Best EOPM Quick 8 Show.
We
have had some fast, awesome shows but I do think
this was the tightest field ever. "All these teams
put on an outstanding show for the Dunn-Benson fans
in qualifying. They are what makes the EOPM the
place to be," said Stuart.
Before the first round of EOPM eliminations started
it was announced that the 70.5 Camaro of Jim
Teachman had won the Hairy Glass Best Appearing
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod award. The 70.5 which is gold
with black stripes is a very sleek ride built by
Mike Graham of Virginia Speed Race Cars.
As the first round of eliminations started the
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Champion, Dewayne Silance was
the fan favorite to win, as the champ had made
consistent 3 second passes in every qualifying
session. The first pair out to start eliminations
would be number four qualifier in the supercharged
Willys Kevin Mayer taking on number five qualifier
Danny Perry in his nitrous powered ZR-1 Corvette.
Mayer would take the win with a .111 rt, 3.99, at
177 mph over Perry's .132 rt, 4.83, at 101 mph. Next
up would be one of those Ford Mustang versus Chevy
Camaro classic matchups that helped make drag racing
what it is today. The number three qualifier Todd
Howard in his nitrous powered Mustang taking on the
number six qualifier Ed Burnley in his nitrous
powered 67 Camaro. Howard would lose with a .150 rt,
5.20, at 96 mph to Bunley's .119rt, 4.04, at 185mph.
The third pair out would be number two qualifier
Charles Terrell in his self motivated supercharged
Mustang, against number seven qualifier Steve Vick
in his nitrous fed Camaro. Terrell would pick up
another win to add to his points lead with a .154 rt,
4.02, at 181 over Vick's .176 rt, 4.02, at 187. Last
pair out would be the number one qualifier Dewayne
Silance in his Charlie Buck powered '68 Camaro
taking on Andy Beal in his Beal Racing Engines
supercharged '63 'Vette. Silance would cruise to
victory with a .065'rt, 3.95, at 185 over Beal's
-.166 'rt, 5.18, 144mph.
In the semi-finals Ed Burnley would take a bye run
win as Charles Terrell could not take the tree. The
Maryland native Burnley would run a 4.01 at 185 mph
on his solo pass. Kevin Mayer would take the win
light over Dewayne Silance with a 4.05 at 172 over
Silance's 4.25 at 133. Kevin Mayer in the famous
Pirate Ship would go on to take a solo pass for the
event win, as Ed Burnley would be unable to make the
call for the final round.
"This was one of the toughest fields I have ever
seen, and it was an accomplishment for us to
qualify, but to go on and pick up the win at
Dunn-Benson is a blessing. We have had our share of
bad luck last season so it's good to have some good
luck on your side on race day. I have to thank my
family and my team for all they do" said Kevin
Mayer.
Thanks to Dunn-Benson Dragstrip, all the racers who
support the EOPM, our sponsors Speedtech, Hank
Thomas Performance, Tom Tillman Race Cars, Beal
Racing Engines, Hairy Glass, Lake Anna Motorsports,
Buck Racing Engines, Virginia Speed Race Cars,
Santhuff''s, Roger's Automotive, Custom T's of DC,

Illustrated. Thanks for coming out again Van!!!

Todd
Howard wins 1st EOPM Showdown at Dunn-Benson!! |
|
(5-3-2011)
BENSON, NC – On Saturday April 30th the Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mods visited Dunn-Benson Dragstrip for
the first time during the 2011 season.
The many heads up doorslammer fans were not
disappointed to see Steve Vick, Dewayne White, RB
Smith, Carol Long, Dave Leonardo, Mack Copeland,
Ernie Everett, Greg Godwin, Sambo Price, Todd
Howard, Brian Williams, and current Extreme Outlaw
Pro Mod points leader Charles Terrell make the
Showdown reality in three exciting rounds of
qualifying. Steve Cossis also made the trip from New
York but decided not to risk hurting anything after
an unsuccessful test session Friday.
After three brutal rounds of Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod
qualifying for the "Best of the Best" quick 8 show,
the fans saw EOPM newcomer Greg Godwin who was
competing in his second straight event, in his big
nitrous powered Mauney 63 Vette run a 3.96 on the
last shot to become the number one qualifier,
earning him the Speedtech low qualifier gift
certificate. The field was set for the EOPM Best of
the Best Quick 8 show with Todd Howard in second
with a 3.97 in his beautiful big nitrous powered
Ford Mustang, Charles Terrell in third with a 4.042
in his Blown Mustang, Andy Jensen would take the
fourth spot with a 4.044 in his small block Turbo
powered Camaro, Brian Williams in fifth with a 4.084
in his Blown Corvette, Sambo Price in sixth with a
4.088 in his nitrous powered Camaro, Ernie Everett
in seventh with a 4.11 in his nitrous powered Camaro,
and Mack Copeland would capture the final eighth
spot with a 4.13 in his Pro Charged Monte Carlo. The
nine, ten, eleven, and twelve money would go to
Dewayne White, newcomer Jay Cox, Dave Leonardo with
his new S-10, and the EOPM's first lady, the
She-Devil Carol Long.
In round one action Brian Williams in his
Supercharged Corvette would face the Turbo entry of
EOPM north member Andy Jensen. Williams would leave
the tree first with a .026 light to Jensen's .062,
and go on to take the win as Brian ran a 4.01 to
Andy's 4.17 using alot of his lane to early in the
run. Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod points leader Charles
Terrell in his Supercharged Mustang that earlier won
the Hairy Glass Best Appearing Car Award would face
newcomer Jay Cox in his Charlie Buck powered
Studebaker. Cox would be an alternate for Sambo
Price who was unable to make the call. Terrell would
leave the tree first with a slight edge with a .076
bulb to Cox's .081 and go on for the win with a 4.01
to Jay Cox's 4.34. Next up would be number two
qualifier Todd Howard in the Jerry Williams
Motorsports Nitrous Powered Mustang taking on number
seven qualifier Ernie "Big E" Everett in his Nirous
Powered Camaro. Everett would leave the tree first
with a .127 light to Howard's .213, but the big 5.3
motor of Howard's would once again flex its muscle
with a 3.97 to Everett's 4.19 to take the win. The
last pair out to complete round one would be Mack
Copeland with the EOPM's fastest ProCharged equipped
car taking on the number one qualifier Greg Godwin
in his Nitrous Powered 63 Vette. Mack would leave
first with a .031 bulb to Greg's .100 and go on for
the win with a 4.22 to Godwin's 4.15.
In the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod semi's Charles Terrell
would face Todd Howard, and Brian Williams would
face Mack Copeland. First up would be Charles
Terrell and Todd Howard. Supercharged Mustang versus
Nitrous fed Mustang. Unfortunately Terrell would
have a lower fuel line spraying alcohol in a
location that the crew member couldn't reach which
handed the win to the JW Motorsports Team with Todd
Howard. Next up Brian Williams in the Supercharged
Corvette would face Mack Copeland in the Pro Charged
Monte Carlo. The pro-charger did take Williams out
at the 2010 EOPM Nationals. Williams would take the
win with a 4.01 as Copeland had to lift early after
severe tire shake.
In the final it would be Todd Howard against Brian
Williams. Nitrous power versus Supercharger. Todd
Howard would take the win light with his fastest
pass of the day with a 3.95 as Williams shook hard.
The Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods would like to thank Dunn
Benson Dragstrip, Buck Racing Engines, Lake Anna
Motorsports, Speedtech, Santhuff's, Hairy Glass,
Hank Thomas Performance, Beal Racing Engines, Tom
Tillman Race Cars, Roger's Automotive, and Williams
Concrete for their continued support. We thank all
the racers who competed to support the EOPM and the
heads up doorslammer fans who came out to witness
"the Show".

Jordan Brings
Heat to EOPM!! |
|
(04-11-11)
JACKSONVILLE, NC - On April 9th the Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mods once again brung "the Show" to
Coastal Plains Dragway with a new twist as some
Quick 8 Outlaw joined the fun on another record
setting day. The heads up doorslammer fans of
Coastal Plains were thrilled to see twenty-three
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod teams on the grounds waiting
to battle it out in qualifying for a spot in the
"Best of the Best" 8 car field. Prior to Saturday
morning came some unwelcomed rain, with more clouds
and cool temps following Saturday morning at CPD.
The EOPM and Coastal Plains Dragway called a drivers
meeting to discuss postponing the event. The
competitors, CPD, and the EOPM decided to have only
2 rounds of qualifying instead of 3, and start
qualifying a little later hoping the temperature
would rise as forecasted.
The result would be the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod et
record being broken three times along with the
EOPM's fastest bump spot record being shattered, to
go with the largest promod count ever at CPD. "It
was crazy because qualifying started, and about half
way through the sun came out, and quickly changed
everything for these guys trying to qualify" said
Shawn Kelly of K&S Productions. There were many
teams who spent Friday testing, but with the rain
then the sunshine heating things up fast, it threw
most of the quality data out the window. After round
1 of qualifying it would be Quick 8 Outlaws
superstar Troy Jordan in the dominating, blown 68
Supercharged, BladeRunner Camaro, who would be on
top of the sheet with a new Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod
et record with a 3.927. The bump spot record would
be shattered in the first round with fellow Quick 8
Outlaws member/Q8 Champion, Robbie Matthews, sitting
on it with a 4.067. A 4.11 was the previous fastest
bump.
The
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod pits were filled with
electricity knowing this was already the fastest
EOPM field ever after only one round of qualifying,
with only one shot left to make the "Best of the
Best" 8 car field. After the second round of
qualifying new EOPM star Steve Vick competing for
the second time with the EOPM would reset the
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod et record with a 3.922 to
become the first Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod number 1
qualifier for the new year receiving the Speedtech
number 1 qualifier certificate. Earlier James Linton
in his awesome Supercharged Duster received the EOPM/
Hairy Glass best appearing car award. This is how
the cards fell after 2 exciting rounds of
qualifying. The "Best of the Best" 8 car field would
be, number one Steve Vick with a 3.922 in his NOS
powered 68 Camaro, number two Troy Jordan in the
blown 68 Camaro with a 3.927, number three Greg
Godwin in his NOS powered 63 Vette with 3.941,
number four Ed Burnley with a 3.956 in his NOS
powered 68 Camaro, number five Charles Terrell in
his Blown Mustang with a 3.96, number six Dewayne
Silance in his Buck powered 68 Camaro wit 3.975,
number seven Kevin Mayer with a 4.022 in his blown
41 Willy's, and number eight Steve Bray in his blown
Mustang on the bump with a 4.036. The EOPM would
like to thank and recognize all the following for
their qualifying efforts. At number nine with a 4.05
Sambo Price of the Q8 Outlaws, number ten Brian
Williams with a 4.058, number eleven Coby Rabon with
a 4.06, number twelve Robbie Matthews with a 4.067,
number thirteen Lorenzo Stringfield n/a, number
fourteen Dewayne White with a 4.12, number fifteen
James Linton 4.193, number sixteen Chris Rini with a
4.23, number seventeen Kevin Rivenbark with a 4.30,
number eighteen Andy Jensen with a 4.91, number
nineteen Bonnie Gore with a shook, number twenty
Marc Hayes with nt, number twenty-one Ernie Everett
with nt, and number twenty-two Carol "She Devil"
Long with nt. Raymond McNeil who tested Friday was
unable to make either call for qualifying. Thank you
all as you are "the Show".
As
it was time for eliminations after two awesome
rounds of qualifying the true pro mod fans of
Coastal Plains knew they were in for an exciting
evening with the EOPM in the house. First up would
be number four qualifier Ed Burnley against Charles
Terrell who qualified number five. Burnley the only
EOPM North team to qualify would have a line lock
malfunction result in a very short burnout, bet
forever being a true sportsman chose redo his
burnout. When the tree dropped Burnley would leave
first with a .019 bulb to Terrell's .046. Charles
Terrell would pick up the victory with a 4.01 pass
over Ed Burnley's 4.06 despite driving through
severe tire shake. The second pair out would be
number three qualifier Greg Godwin to face the 2010
EOPM Champion, Dewayne Silance who qualified number
six. Godwin who was all over the track would pick up
the win with a 4.62 as Silance broke after the
burnout. The third pair out would be Troy Jordan who
qualified number two against number seven qualifier
Kevin Mayer. Jordan would leave the tree first with
a .039 bulb, to Mayers .044, then go on to take the
win with a 3.92 over Mayer's 3.95. The Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mods congratulate Kevin Mayer and the
Pirate Ship crew on their first 3. second pass. The
last pair out for round one would be the number one
qualifier Steve Vick and number eight qualifier
Steve Bray. Vick would have an advantage as the tree
dropped with a .009 bulb against Bray's .019, but
Vick would have problems and abort the run as Bray
ran another 4.03. In round two we would see a "new
Show" begin as it would be Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods
against Quick 8 Outlaws in the semi's. First up
would be Charles "the working Man" Terrell of the
EOPM against Steve Bray of the Quick 8 Outlaws in a
battle of two beautiful Blown Mustangs. At the tree
Terrell would have an advantage with a .036 bulb to
Bray's .054, but it would be all Steve Bray with a
4.06 pass as Terrell's car lost fire. The second
pair out would be Troy Jordan of the Quick 8 Outlaws
versus Greg Godwin who was competing with the EOPM
for the first time. Jordan would have a big
advantage at the tree with a .045 bulb to Godwin's
.178. Jordan would take the win as he strolled to
another Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod et record with a 3.91
as Godwin aborted the pass after severe tire shake.
Jordan would come back around for a solo pass for
the final as Steve Bray could not make the call.
Troy Jordan and the Bladerunner Team would attempt
to take the EOPM record into the 3.80's but shook
and then coasted to a Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod trophy.
This was an extraordinary start to the EOPM year
with a lot of good teams coming together to bring a
great Outlaw show to Ronnie Humphrey's Coastal
Plains Dragway who believe in setting a new standard
in Outlaw Pro Mod racing. We were glad to see the
Quick 8 Outlaws come out, and compete with the EOPM
and we congratulate them on picking up the win at
Coastal Plains which is home to the Quick 8 Outlaws
World Finals.
Its unofficial but after the event K&S Productions
were checking out the points standings and it seemed
that Charles Terrell who has made plans to be a EOPM
Championship contender is now number 1 in the
points. We walked over to inform Terrell's Racing
Team. "Yeah we just finished checking on that
ourselves, so hopefully we can extend the lead a
little bit at Dunn Benson with a few of the regular
heavy hitters going to the big money race the same
day. That's going to make that a very interesting
field" said Charles Terrell.
Once again thanks go out to Ronnie Humphrey's and
the Coastal Plains Dragway staff, our sponsors
Speedtech, Buck Racing Engines, Hairy Glass, Rogers
Automotive, Santhuffs, Lake Anna Motorsports, Tom
Tillman Race Cars, K&S Productions, Custom T's of
DC, Beal Racing Engines, Virginia Speed Race Cars,
Williams Concrete, and Hank Thomas Performance. Next
up will be Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods return home to
Dunn Benson Dragstrip on April 30th.

Mauney
blazes Coastal Plains!! |
(11-21-2010)
JACKSONVILLE, NC – On November 20th the Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mods brought "the Show" to Coastal Plains
Dragway to end one year, and begin a new season at
the same time. "This was truly an amazing blessing
with very good weather, and many great teams
supporting the EOPM. We can't say enough about how
thankful we are to each team for making this event
an outstanding success for the Extreme Outlaw Pro
Mods as well as Coastal Plains Dragway," said joint
director Stuart Williams.
When it was time for the all out war to begin with
qualifying, there were nineteen Extreme Outlaw Pro
Mods ready to electrify the fans with side by side,
heads up doorslammer action.
On the grounds at CPD were the EOPM 2010 Champion
Dewayne Silance, RB Smith who finished second in
2010, Bill De'Soto, Josh Chester, Steve Cossis, Ed
Burnley, Brian Williams, Ernie Everett, Kevin
Rivenbark, Kevin Mayer, Charles Terrell, Coby Rabon,
Dave Leonardo, Jeff Mullins, Lorenzo Springfield,
Tommy Mauney, Steve Vick, Raymond McNeil, and Zeb
Artist. "You gotta take your hat off to Steve Vick,
Jeff Mullins, and Charles Terrell as these guys had
never ran with the EOPM before, but told us they
were coming, and showed up. Coby Rabon was
definitely a welcomed surprise as we had no clue he
was coming," said Stuart.
After two crowd pleasing rounds of qualifying the
top eight teams would be number one Tommy Mauney
with a back to back 3.93 shots, number two would be
Charles Terrell with a 3.95, number three would be
Dewayne Silance with a 3.97, number four would be
Brian Williams with a 4.06, number five would be
Lorenzo Springfield with a 4.067, number six would
be Coby Rabon with a 4.069, number seven would be RB
Smith with a 4.10, with Kevin Mayer taking the final
eighth spot with a 4.12. The fans could hardly wait
to get eliminations started, knowing they would see
four nitrous cars, three blower cars, and a turbo
car go to war in true pro mod racing action.
The
first pair out for the first round of eliminations
would be Brian Williams in his blown 2001 Corvette
going against Lorenzo Springfield in his Nitrous
powered GTO. Springfield would go into immediate
tire shake as Williams posted a 4.08 on the board.
Dewayne Silance would get a bye into the semi's as
Coby Rabon's crew chief would cut him off
immediately after hearing a problem. Silance would
run a pedaling 4.03. Number two qualifier Charles
Terrell would be up next in his Supercharged Mustang
taking on RB Smith. As the tree dropped Smith would
hand Terrell the win turning on the red. Terrell
would run a 4.22 to Smith's 4.13. That would bring
up the number one qualifier Tommy Mauney in his
Nitrous powered TM Camaro to take on Kevin Mayer in
his Blown TM Willys. When the tree dropped Kevin
would take a good advantage, but Tommy would run his
third 3.93 pass to take the win light. It was clear
that Mr. Tommy Mauney would be the man to beat.
In the semi-finals we would see Dewayne Silance in
his Buck Racing Engines powered Camaro taking on the
newcomer Charles Terrell in his Blown Mustang.
Silance would pick up the win with a 3.96 to
Terrell's 4.11. Tommy Mauney in the awesome TM Race
Cars Camaro would face off with Brian Williams in
the bad to the bone blown Vette. Williams would
leave the tree first with a .037 bulb to Mauney's
.090 bulb, but another 3.93 would advance Mauney to
the final. The final round would have been an
awesome race to witness, but unfortunately would not
take place due to Dewayne Silance not being able to
make the call. Always the professional, Tommy Mauney
would still make the final pass of the night posting
a 4.04 for the fans. "I want to thank my crew and
Fulton Racing Engines for the powere. This was alot
of fun for our team, and it was great to pick up the
win. We plan to support the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods
whenever we can next season" said Mauney.
There is no doubt that the EOPM will be the place to
be in 2011 as this race made things interesting
already with Mauney taking an early lead in the
points. It could be veery difficult for the champ to
repeat in 2011 with Cossis, Burnley, Terrell, Vick,
and Rabon all planning to bring the war to Dunn
Benson this season.

Extreme Outlaw
Pro Mods ready for Coastal Plains!! |
(11-13-2010)
FREDERICKSBURG, VA – Saturday November 20th will
mark the end of an innaugural race year, and the
beginning of a new points season for the Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mods at Coastal Plains Dragway.
"This will be our first time bringing "the Show" to
Coastal Plains, so our guys know the importance when
we are dedicated to setting a new standard in outlaw
doorslammer competition. I have to thank Mr. Ronnie
Humphrey for believing what this club can do, and
giving us a good purse for the racers," said Stuart
Williams.
Mr. Humphrey who competes in NHRA Pro Stock
competition has actually been a supporter of the
EOPM from its start. "Stuart, and I talk all the
time, and he was my guest at Maple Grove for the
NHRA. I was supposed to have one of the first
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod races, but we both just go
too busy to really work out the details in time. I'm
thrilled to still be able to have them at my
facility in their first year at our most anticipated
event," said Mr. Humphrey.
All across North Carolina the people know when
November comes it is time for Coastal Plains
Dragway's Mountain Motor Shootout. With the EOPM
teaming up with Coastal Plains for this event now
the race automatically gains the ongoing War between
EOPM North and South. The EOPM's main goal is to put
on the very best show for the fans possible, but we
are on a mission to bring the largest car count of
Pro Mods that CPD has ever seen. It will be an
awesome way to finish the year if we can break the
car count record this time of the year, but many of
our regular guys are finished for the year.

That being said the fans can expect to see Wild Bill
De'Soto, Flyin Brian Williams, Derrick Townes, EOPM
Champ Dewayne Silance, Ernie Everett, Buzz Varner,
Steve Cossis, Troy Henderson, Kevin Mayer, Charles
Terrell, RB Smith, Rocky Raynor, Dave Leonardo,
Raymond McNeil, Kevin Rivenbark, Lorenzo
Springfield, Rick Moore, Danny Perry, Josh Chester
and a few surprises.
Everything's different now with the EOPM. We have
our first champion with Dewayne Silance, so he is
basically a marked man every time out as all
competitors want a piece of the champ. This race
being in the mans backyard in November, may show who
plans to stop Silance from repeating.
As usual there will be no entry fee or club
membership fees. We just want those able to come out
and help put on "the Show" the fans deserve at
Coastal Plains Dragway November 20th for the Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mods Final Conflict of 2010.

Silance and Buck Racing add
EOPM Nationals win to EOPM Championship!! |
(10-17-2010)
BENSON, NC – The dates were October 15, and 16th.
The place was the New Dunn-Benson Dragstrip. The
heads up doorslammer club on hand was the Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mods. The Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods held
their first annual EOPM Nationals this past weekend.
The event was aimed at showing appreciation to the
EOPM teams who have supported this new club by
competing in three or more events which helped the
club find great success in its first year of
existance.
"This was our Nationals, and we could have easily
cut it back to one, or two races for eligibility to
have more cars, but that would not have been right
when these guys with three or more races, are in
fact the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods. They have made
this thing take off the way it has by competing all
year, and deserved the great purse put up by
Dunn-Benson, for this first EOPM Nationals. Now
every season after we will be looking to make it
bigger and better," said joint director Stuart
Williams.
Qualifying:
Things kicked off Friday night for the Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals and it appeared that "Flyin"
Brian Williams would be the man to beat being the
only car to make a full pass that night in the cold,
taking the number one qualifying spot with a 4.10.
"The entire lane oildown that happened minutes
before our scheduled first round of qualifying just
ruined our Friday sessions, as it pushed us back too
far without enough cars to keep heat in the track,"
said Marc Hayes.
In another bad turn of events during the first round
of qualifying Andy Beal of club sponsor Beal Racing
Engines would have catastrophic engine failure and
would not be able to continue. Danny Perry of Boone
Racing would have a parts failure, and would also be
unable to continue.
As the weekend went on, and it was time for the
fourth, and final qualifying session Saturday, many
key teams would find themselves on the outside
looking in with one shot left. In the lanes for the
final shot would be Kevin Mayer, Bill De'Soto, Dave
Leonardo, Marc Hayes, Dwayne White, Brian Williams,
Jim Teachman, Ronnie Gardner, Kevin Rivenbark, Ricky
Walton, RB Smith, Edward Wilson, Mack Copeland, and
Dewayne Silance.
When qualifying was over the best of the best would
once again rise to the top with Dewayne Silance, in
his Charlie Buck powered '68 Camaro, posting a 3.99
to take the number one spot. Dunn-Benson's own
Edward Wilson, who recently qualified for an ADRL
event, would go 4.00 in his Fulton powered '41
Willys to capture the number two spot. Ronnie
Gardner would take the number three spot with a 4.03
in his P.A.R powered '67 Camaro known as Superman.
Brian Williams who consistantly went straight down
the track would round out the top four with a 4.06
in his blown Corvette. Mack Copeland in the Buck
ProCharged Monte Carlo would run an awesome 4.10 to
land in the number five spot on the sheets. EOPM
North captain Marc Hayes would qualify sixth in his
Fulton powered Cavalier with a 4.16. RB Smith in his
Steve Ashworth powered '63 Vette would take the
seventh spot with a 4.17. Brian Williams teammate
Kevin Rivenbark would capture the final eighth spot
with a 4.18 in his Wilkins powered Firebird. Jim
Teachman, Kevin Mayer, Bill De'Soto, and Dave
Leonardo would take the 9-12 qualifying spots
earning $300 each.
Eliminations:
The first pair out to bring the Dunn-Benson fans to
thier feet would be "Flyin" Brian Williams, and Mack
Copeland. Supercharger versus ProCharger. Copeland
would take a starting line advantage with a .047
reaction time to Williams .078 which would be enough
for the win as Mack would run a 4.06 over Brians
4.05. Next up would be Ronnie Gardner, and Marc "the
Truth" Hayes. Gardner would take the win with a 4.36
over Hayes 4.41 as both drivers put on a driving
show. Edward Wilson who would pick up $200 from Lake
Anna Motorsports for having the best mph of the
event would face off with the man who finished
second in the EOPM points, RB Smith. Smith would
take the win with a 4.14 over Wilson's 4.28. The
final pair out would be Dewayne Silance who picked
up $200 from Tom Tillman Race Cars, $300 from Dunn
Benson Dragstrip, and a $200 gift certificate from
Speedtech for being the number one qualifier at the
EOPM Nationals, taking on Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod
rookie driver of the year Kevin Rivenbark. Dewayne
would take a huge starting line advantage with .036
to Kevin's .109 bulb which would be enough for the
win as Silance would run a 4.09 over Rivenbarks
4.08.
"You
have to be on your game out here, and especially now
because everyone will be gunning for the champ,"
said Stuart Williams. We would like to commend
Rivenbark, and Copeland for posting their personal
best in the first round of the Extreme Outlaw Pro
Mod Nationals.
In the semi-finals RB Smith would run a 4.21 to take
the win over Ronnie Gardner as the Superman car went
into immediate violent tire shake. Dewayne Silance
would take a bye run as Mack Copeland would not make
the call. Silance would run another 3.99 equal to
his qualifying effort to take lane choice over RB
Smith in the final.
The final round would showcase the 2010 champion
against the runner up with Silance taking on Smith.
Dewayne Silance and the Buck Racing Engines Team
would save the best for last running a 3.96 over RB
Smiths 4.17. Silance would pick up the winners purse
along with another $100 gift certificate from
Speedtech.
"It's an honor to be the first Extreme Outlaw Pro
Mod Champion, as this thing has grown fast. I'm
proud of some longtime friends of mine who put this
club together, and I do plan to defend this title in
2011, as I look to repeat" said Silance.
This championship team has had an awesome run to
start the season late, and win a championship with
the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods due to the fierce
competition. There were no other repeat winners all
season as Henderson, Smith, Jones, Varner, Gardner,
and Beal each won events this season.
Before winnning the EOPM Nationals, the 2010 Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mod Champion won the World Finals at
Coastal Plains while competing with the world's
fastest Powerglide club, the Quick 8 Outlaws, last
weekend.
The last EOPM race of this year will be at Coastal
Plains on November 20th, but it will start our 2011
points season. |

Superman Brings
EOPM Trophy North!!! |
(9-20-2010)
BENSON, NC – Saturday, September 18th, the G&G
Racing Team of driver Ronnie Gardner, and team owner
JD Goad made their mark with the Extreme Outlaw Pro
Mods being the first North team to win at
Dunn-Benson.
"It was a very long weekend as we got the motor back
Friday night, and was racing with the EOPM Saturday.
Definitely a case of hard work paying off, and we
thank our sponsors Primetime Race Cars, P.A.R Racing
Engines, Goad's Body Shop, Weaver's Transmissions,
James T. Davis Paint Centers, and D&S Insurance
Agency for all their support this year," said JD
Goad.
Coming into the last points race for the Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mods of the 2010 season only one point
separated the top two men Dewayne Silance and RB
Smith. Sadly Smith was unable to attend the event
which determined 2 time IHRA Top Sportsman champ
Dewayne Silance the 2010 Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod
Champion.
Through three amazing rounds of qualifying Edward
Wilson, Ronnie Gardner, Todd Tutterow, Danny Perry,
Marc Hayes, Brian Williams, Kevin Mayer, Dave
Leonardo, Mack Copeland, Dewayne Silance, Kevin
Rivenbark, Derrick Townes, Lorenzo Stringfield, and
Steve Corker would deliver an amazing show to the
Dunn Benson fans.
Todd
Tutterow would capture the number one qualifying
spot with a 4.012 blast using up alot of track with
his Blown small block Mustang. Ronnie Gardner would
qualify number two with a 4.019. Danny Perry would
take the number three spot with a 4.073 with Marc
Hayes in fourth with a 4.076. Dunn-Benson's own
Brian Williams would qualify fifth with a 4.09,
while Edward Wilson would finish qualifying sixth
with a 4.11. Derrick Townes who competed at VMP with
the EOPM, made his first trip to Dunn-Benson from
upper Maryland would qualify seventh with a 4.16.
Kevin Mayer would hold the eight spot with a 4.24.
In the first round of eliminations Danny Perry in
his nitrous powered 'Vette would take on Edward
Wilson in his nitrous powered '41 Willys. Perry
would take the win light with a 4.77 as Wilson had
violent tire shake. Brian Williams in his blown 'Vette
would take on Marc Hayes in his nitrous powered
Cavalier. Hayes would shake the tires as Williams
rocketed to another 4.09 pass and the win. This
would bring up Ronnie Gardner in the nitrous powered
'67 Camaro against Kevin Rivenbark in his nitrous
powered '68 Firebird. Rivenbark would come in as an
alternate for Derrick Townes. Gardner would take the
win with a 4.03 over Rivenbarks 4.18. Last up for
the first round of eliminations would be number one
qualifier Todd Tutterow in the blown powered Mustang
against Kevin Mayer in the blown Willys. Tutterow
would take the win with a 4.03 over Mayers 4.23.
In the semifinals Todd Tutterow would take on Brian
Williams. They would leave the tree close together
with Brian's .016 blub to Todd's .019, but Williams
would take the victory with a 4.07 to Tutterow's
4.13. Ronnie Gardner would have a single pass as
Danny Perry would not be able to make the call.
Gardner would run a 4.02 to have lane choice over
Brian Williams.
In
the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod final Ronnie Gardner
would leave the tree first with a .034 light to
Brian Williams .085, and never look back for the win
running another 4.02 over Williams 4.05. With the
win Gardner would finish the EOPM points season in
fourth place with Williams finishing in third. Andy
Beal who was unable to attend due to having
emergency surgery would round out the top 5 in fifth
place only five points behind Gardner. Awesome job
to all the teams.
We were very impressed with Derrick Townes who
qualified for the event and only made one pass. The
team let us know they will be at the EOPM event at
Coastal Plains in November and plan to compete more
with us in 2011. Lorenza Stringfield who was
competing in his first EOPM race said he would also
see us at Coastal Plains. Maurice Bea also let us
know that the Buck powered Mustang will be coming
soon to represent the NBrth also. The Extreme Outlaw
Pro Mod's only ProCharged team with Mack Copeland
piloting have set a personal mission to become the
fastest ProCharged team in the world at the EOPM
Nationals.
Talking with JD Goad after the race I was told that
there is a EOPM trophy from Dunn-Benson in the North
now and they plan to bring the EOPM Nationals trophy
that way also. JD also wanted to thank his team Ray
Shipman, Jamie Thompson, Mike Stanley, Calvin Fauber,
and most of all his father for giving them the
opportunity to continue to do what they love, and
igniting JD's passion for Pro Mod racing all those
years ago.

Silance
and Buck Racing Engines make statement at VMP!! |
(8-30-2010)
DINWIDDIE, VA – August 28 will not soon be forgotten
by heads up doorslammers fans, and racers all over
the world, as it was the day that the Extreme Outlaw
Pro Mods, and Custom T's of DC brung "the New Show"
to Virginia Motorsports Park. "It was our goal to
have an awesome show at Dinwiddie that should help
with the future of this club, and our number one
goal of setting a new standard in Outlaw Pro Mod
racing. We definitely have to thank our sponsor and
long time supporter Larry Thompson for believing in
the EOPM enough to have this event with us," said
EOPM Joint Director Stuart Williams.
Just before qualifying started the Extreme Outlaw
Pro Mods had a drivers meeting where a vote took
place between having a consolation race or a quick
16. The end result would see the first ever Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mod quick 16. This was a time that it was
good that we are flexible, and sincere in wanting to
put on the best show possible for the fans as we are
a quick 8 club. As Shawn, Stuart, and I walked
around the staging lanes for the first round of
qualifying, we were just as excited as the fans in
the stands, as the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods had 37
teams attempting to qualify with about five teams
not making the call due to breaking, or choosing to
watch the show. "The car count is crazy, but there
is also the fact that Steve Vick broke Friday night
testing at VMP, and several other teams who support
us couldn't make it. Wow, what a birthday gift,"
said Shawn Kelly.
After
the first round of qualifying was complete the fans
were in awe as Extreme Pro Stock racer, Bert Jackson
would be on the bump spot with a 4.27. Dewayne
Silance would be the number 1 man with a 3.96, with
legendary Pro Mod racer Charles Carpenter close
behind in the 2nd spot with a 3.97. When the second
and final qualifying round was over Dewayne "the
Hogfarmer" Silance in his Charlie Buck Racing
Engines powered JBRC '68 Camaro would once again be
the number one qualifier with a 3.958 earning the
$200 low qualifier money from Tom Tillman Race Cars.
Charles Carpenter in his big nitrous powered '55
Chevy would be the number 2 qualifier with a 3.975.
EOPM sponsor Andy Beal in his blown '63 Vette would
be the number 3 qualifier with a 3.994. Brian
Williams would be the number 4 qualifier with a
3.998. John Bartunek in his big nitrous powered '68
Camaro would be the number 5 qualifier with a 4.028.
Jason Harris would run a 4.038 to qualify 6th with
his nitrous powered '68 Firebird. Marc Hayes in his
nitrous powered Cavalier would qualify number 7 with
a 4.050. Steve Cossis in his nitrous powered '67
Camaro would qualify 8th with a 4.050 to round out
the top eight teams. Wait a second though! This race
was turned into a quick 16. Todd Howard with the
only Ford in the field in his nitrous powered 2008
Cobra Mustang would qualify 9th with a 4.051. The
current NEOPMA blower class points leader, Steve
King would qualify 10th with a 4.055 with his blown
'68 Camaro. Terry Dehaven in his blown '63 Vette
would qualify 11th with a 4.077. Dwayne Wolfe would
qualify 12th in his blown Firebird with a 4.116.
David Campbell in his nitrous powered 70.5 Camaro
would qualify 13th with a 4.129. RB Smith would
qualify 14th with a 4.132 in his Virginia Speed Race
Cars nitrous powered '63 Vette. Derrick Townes in
his blown '68 Camaro would run a 4.142 to qualify
15th. Jeremy Hoy in his Charlie Buck powered '63
Vette would qualify on the bump at 16th with a 4.18.
Thats right the bump spot was a 4.18 for a single
class quick 16 show. Then the number 17 and 18
qualifiers, Jim Teachman and Troy Henderson ran
4.187 and 4.195. "This is the best of the best in
Outlaw Pro Mod racing, which brings out the best in
guys with stiff competition causing many teams to
run personal bests'" said Stuart Williams.
With
qualifying complete, it was clear that Dewayne
Silance, and Charles Carpenter were on a collision
course to do battle in the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod
Big Showdown finals. In round 1 of eliminations
Dewayne "the Hogfarmer" Silance would go head to
head with the Ford Cobra Mustang of Todd Howard.
Silance would run 3.937 for the win over Howard's
4.031. On the other side of the ladder Charles
Carpenter would face off with Steve King. Carpenter
would pilot the "55" to a 3.991 to take the win over
King's troubled 7.789. In round 2 Charlie Buck
Racing Engines own Dewayne Silance would meet David
Campbell who pulled a upset win over John Bartunek
in round 1. Campbell would leave the tree first with
a .013 bulb to Silances .052 but the Buck horsepower
would run a 3.944 to pick up the win over Campbell's
8.12. The 3.944 would earn the Silance Racing team
and Charlie Buck Racing Engines a new world record
for a nitrous powerglide car. Charles Carpenter
would face Big Dog star Jason Harris in round 2.
Harris would leave the tree first with a .037 bulb
to Carpenter's .100, but Carpenter would get to the
finish line first for the win with a 3.96 to
Harris's 7.71.
In the semi-finals their would be a pair of nitrous
versus blower match-ups, as Dewayne Silance would
face Andy Beal, and Charles Carpenter would face off
with Brian Williams. First up would be
Charles
Carpenter, and Brian Williams who had taken out
Steve Cossis in round 2, and Dwayne Wolfe in round
1. Williams would have a killer light with a .001 to
Carpenter's .037, but Carpenter would run a 3.941 to
take the win over Williams 4.002. Next up would be
Dewayne Silance, and Andy Beal who took out Derrick
Townes in round 2, and Troy Henderson in round 1.
Silance would leave the tree first with a .015 bulb
to Beal's .024, and never look back, once again
shattering the nitrous powerglide record with a
3.928, in the awesome Buck Racing Engines powered,
JBRC 68 Camaro.
An amazing final was set between number 1 qualifier
Dewayne Silance and Charles Carpenter. Dewayne
Silance would pick up the win as Charles Carpenter
would be disqualified for crossing the center line.
"I had immediate tire shake, and I saw him coming so
I immediately locked up the brakes. That was a close
call. I'm glad Charles is okay, and that team did a
heck of job today turning that car around between
rounds," said Dewayne Silance.
Talking with Stuart Williams Monday, Mr. Carpenter
said, "I had a great time running with the Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mods and you guys have a good thing
going. The car is at Allan Pittmans to be repaired.
Please keep me informed on your races as I plan to
run with you guys more in the future." We thank all
the teams and fans for making the EOPM Big Showdown
live up to and beyond expectations.

Silance and Buck Racing Dominate EOPM!! |
|
(8-23-2010)
BENSON, NC – "When you go to three finals in a row
with one club, be the number one qualifier at two
and win two which Dewayne Silance has done, that's a
loud statement out here with this competition," said
Stuart Williams of the EOPM. "This was another
excellent Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod event with the best
of the best in outlaw racing," Williams finished.
On August 21st the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods gave the
Dunn-Benson fans "the Show" once again, with twenty
awesome heads up doorslammers in the staging lanes
during the three rounds of qualifying for the elite
8. The fans were pleased to see Andy Beal who won
the last event, Danny Perry, Dwayne White, Kevin
Mayer, RB Smith, Carol Long, Todd Tutterow, Mike
Graham, Edward Wilson, Ronnie Gardner, Mack
Copeland, David Campbell, Buzz Varner, Bobby Baucom,
Dave Leonardo, Brian Williams, Troy Henderson, Kevin
Rivenbark, Dewayne Silance, and Rocky Raynor who was
competing in his first EOPM event. After three
exciting rounds of qualifying Dewayne Silance would
have the fans in an uproar being the number one
qualifier with a backbreaking 3.96 pass. Todd
Tutterow would be the number two man with a 4.04 in
his awesome blown small block Mustang. Danny Perry
would take the number three spot with a 4.10 in his
nitrous powered Corvette while Ronnie Gardner would
run a 4.12 to round out the top four spots. Brian
Williams in his blown Corvette would qualify fifth.
Edward Wilson in his wild big nitrous powered '41
Willy's would qualify sixth. Kevin Rivenbark would
qualify seventh in his nitrous powered '68 Pontiac,
and David Campbell in his nitrous powered '70.5
Camaro would round out the top eight.
With the fierce battle that is Extreme Outlaw Pro
Mod qualifying over, the fans and race teams were
all set for eliminations to begin. First up for the
war would be the G&G Racing team with Ronnie Gardner
piloting the big nitrous powered 67 Camaro known as
Superman against "Flyin" Brian Williams in his
brutally blown powered Corvette. Unfortunately
Williams car would not fire, while Gardner would
post a 4.01 using alot of the track to get down.
Danny Perry and Edward Wilson would be up next.
Edward Wilson who was recently qualifying at the St.
Louis ADRL event against multiple time big dogg
winner Danny Perry. When the tree dropped Wilson
would have a .0167 bulb to Perry's .0826, but Danny
would blast to a 4.04 while Edward's Willy's would
have violent tire shake giving Danny the win. Kevin
Rivenbark who had run his new career best with a
4.14 would face one of the most feared competitors
in the world in Outlaw Pro Mod competition, Todd
"King Tut" Tutterow. Todd would leave a 4.29 on the
board after a pedaling multiple wheelstanding pass
while Kevin would have a small fire at the tree.
Dewayne "Hogfarmer" Silance would face David "Thunderwolf"
Campbell to finish up round one. At the tree David
would have a superb .0160 bulb to Dewayne's .0232
but the Buck Racing Engines power would rocket to a
3.99 for the win as Campbell lifted early.
In
round two eliminations Danny Perry would face the
Todd Tutterow. King Tut would have a slight starting
line advantage, but Danny would use all guns to get
around him for the win. Dewayne Silance would face
off with "Superman" Ronnie Gardner. Gardner would go
into tire shake immediately while Silance would
coast to another 3.99 pass. This would set up an all
nitrous final with Dewayne Silance taking on big
dogg star Danny Perry. When the time came, and all
the nitrous lines were purged, Danny would take a
shot at the tree bringing on the red bulb as Dewayne
would have lift off one more time with a 4.00 blast
to end the night.
This was also the first race where the Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mods and Dunn-Benson Dragstrip paid the
9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th qualifiers $300 each
instead of trying to have a consolation race. EOPM
sponsor Andy Beal qualified at number 9 with a 4.17
just missing the bump which was a 4.16. Rocky Raynor
who was competing for his first time with the EOPM
qualified number 10 with a 4.20. Dwayne White from
South Carolina qualified number 11 with a 4.21 at
only 159mph. Troy Henderson who was the only EOPM
North driver to compete would qualify number 12 with
a 4.24. Also worth noting the fact that Mack
Copeland who was making his first passes with a new
combination, going from a powerglide to a bruno/lenco
setup made a shakedown pass after struggling in
qualifying which resulted in a 4.14 pass. "Our goal
is to be the baddest pro-charged team on the planet
representing the EOPM," said Copeland. Watch out for
this team!
"Many people may not truly understand what the
Silance Racing Team has accomplished here in the
EOPM. They have competed in three events with us out
of seven, and now are in second place in the points
only eleven points behind the leader RB Smith.
That's a bad man and that new 5.3 Charlie Buck
Racing Engine is laying the smack down," said Shawn
Kelly of K&S Productions.
Next race is August 28th at Virginia Motorsports
Park for the only chance to see the EOPM compete in
the north thus far in 2010. A very special thanks to
Brittany Henderson and her mom along with the whole
H&P Motorsports Team for the help this weekend with
results.
The Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods would like to thank Mike
Graham of Virginia Speed Race Cars, Charlie Buck
Racing Engines, Avis Sutherland of Dan River Window
Company, Beal Racing Engines Tom Tillman Race Cars,
Van Abernethy of Drag Illustrated, Lake Anna
Motorsports, Larry Thompson of Custom T's of DC, and
K&S Productions.

EOPM
Continue Search For New Sponsors!! |
(7-30-2010)
FREDERICKSBURG, VA - The temperatures
have definitely heated up this summer, along
with the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods who have quickly
become one of the East Coasts most exciting heads up
doorslammer clubs. "It's been a magnificent start
for this club with some of the best pro mod racing
anywhere, but we still have a lot we want to
accomplish to get to our goals" said Stuart Williams
of EOPM.
As a new club with people
in place, who are dedicated to working hard to be
one of the elite 1/8th mile doorslammer clubs on the
East Coast, we are actively searching for sponsors
to help us to maximize our efforts to reach a long
term goal. "We have a lot of faith in our promotion
team of K&S productions, to meet any sponsors
individual needs" said Stuart Williams. "These guys
have learned multiple things, and continue to learn
things that promote the sponsors, the teams, tracks,
and the club itself. Now we look forward to working
with more businesses, and companies to ensure the
success of this first season to live up to the hype
of being "the New Show" on the East Coast. It would
be great to have an official tire and, official
racing gas of the EOPM" Williams finished.
The club has attracted some
awesome teams this year to compete with the Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mods and we are still beating the bushes
to make things better for Outlaw Pro Mod racing in
our areas. We thank our present sponsors Andy Beal
of Beal Racing Engines, Mike Graham of Virginia
Speed Race Cars, Avis Sutherland of Dan River Window
Company, Williams Concrete, Charlie Buck of Buck
Racing Engines, Tom Tillman of Tom Tillman Race
Cars, Ralph Duggins of Lake Anna Motorsports, Larry
Thompson of Custom T's of DC, and K&S Productions
for their continued support. None of this would be
possible without the tracks who are supporting us
this inaugural season. We definitely thank Roxboro
Motorsports, Northeast Dragway, and Dunn-Benson
Dragway, as we were very excited to work with each
this season. Recently announced, the Extreme Outlaw
Pro Mods will compete in the North at Virginia
Motorsports Park for one event in October thanks to
Custom T's of DC.
"All of our present
sponsors are more than just sponsors as they
are very active in helping us set a new
standard. We personally talk to them several times
a month creating a racing family atmosphere between
us" said Stuart. We are still looking for larger
sponsors such as an official fuel, and tire, but we
also would like to have official photographers/video
for our events. We have different things to sponsor
such as low qualifier, title sponsor for a race, and
the hitman program.
For more information please
call Karon Woodward at 540-623-2965, or Stuart
Williams at 540-408-6296 and rest assured nothing is
too small for us because any help is a plus and we
need you. |

Andy Beal
wins Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Showdown 3!! |
(7-26-2010)
BENSON, NC – Saturday July 24th the EOPM put on
another awesome Extreme Show at Dunn-Benson
Dragstrip but this time in Extreme heat.
When the teams were called to the lanes for Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mod qualifying we had Edward Wilson, Dave
Leonardo, Dwayne White, Kevin Mayer, Tommy Mauney,
Glenn Jones, Jeff Blasi, Buzz Varner, Andy Beal, RB
Smith, Brian Williams, Dewayne Silance, Mack
Copeland, Ronnie Gardner, Chris Rini, Robert Morris,
Kevin Rivenbark, and wild Bill De'Soto all prepared
for battle to begin. After the three exciting rounds
of qualifying the fans were left in awe as the
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods would once again deliver the
promised show at Dunn Benson Dragstrip, with Ronnie
Gardner driving the Goad's Racing Teams big nitrous
powered '67 Camaro taking the number one qualifying
spot. JD Goad and Ronnie Gardner earned a low
qualifier plaque, and $200 from both Williams
Concrete, and Lake Anna Motorsports for being on top
of the final qualifying sheet.
As it was time for the first round of eliminations
between the top 8 competitors, no one from the die
hard doorslammer fans, and track staff, to the EOPM
staff could predict the outcome as the number one
qualifier clocked a 4.10 and the number eight
qualifier got in the show with a 4.20. "It's real
tight when you know these racers, because the last
three qualifiers have all been faster recently" said
Shawn Kelly of EOPM. The first pair out would be the
number four man Andy Beal in his blown '63 Vette who
qualified with a 4.120 against the number five man
Edward Wilson in his big nitrous powered '41 Willy's
who qualified with a 4.121. With a .028 to a .061
Wilson would leave the tree first but shake
violently as soon as he turned the clutch loose,
while Beal would pedal to a 4.18 pass. Talking with
Mr. Wilson later it seems he should have cut his
clutch before the event, and didn't have time at the
track. "I just couldn't take enough clutch out, but
its a lesson learned. We had a great time and are
pleased with our qualifying effort in this heat"
said Wilson.
The
next pair up for first round would be Dewayne
Silance in his Charlie Buck powered '68 Camaro, and
Brian Williams in his Blown 05 Vette. Silance the
number three man with a 4.114 would get a bye, as
Williams the number six man with a 4.133 could not
make the call. Always the fierce competitor the
Hogfarmer would run a 4.09 which would be the first
4.zero pass of the evening, but not the last. The
third pair out would pit EOPM North Team, Chris Rini
in his Charlie Buck powered Stratus, who was the
number two man with a 4.110 against EOPM South team,
Buzz Varner in his big nitrous powered 63 Vette, who
was the number seven man with a 4.166. Rini would
have a slight advantage at the start with a .095
bulb to Varner's .106, but Buzz would get to the
finish line first with a 4.112 to Chris's 4.23. This
would be the ATI sponsored teams first appearance
with the EOPM in the Buck powered Stratus. This
would bring up the number one qualifier Ronnie
Gardner in the big nitrous assisted Superman '67
Camaro, against the number eight man with a 4.20, RB
Smith, in his nitrous powered Virginia Speed Race
Cars '63 Vette. Gardener would be forced to lift
after severe tire shake, but Smith would cross the
center line giving Ronnie Gardner the win. The heads
up doorslammer fans lining the fence, and filling
the stands in the extreme heat were thrilled, as
they were not disappointed by the show the EOPM was
putting on.
In the semifinals Andy Beal would be set to face off
with Ronnie Gardner while Dewayne Silance would do
battle once again with Buzz Varner of the Don
Plemmons Racing Team. In the Beal vs Gardner battle,
Ronnie would leave the tree first with a .023 light
to Andy's .038, but Beal would run an awesome 4.07
to get to the finish line before Gardner's 4.12, as
the fans went wild cheering. In the Silance vs
Varner battle, Varner would get a slight advantage
at the tree with an amazing .006 light to Silance's
.019, but Silace would get to the stripe on the far
end first with a pedaling 4.33 as Varner was forced
to lift. This would set up the supercharged 63 Vette
of Andy Beal to go to war against the Charlie Buck
Racing Engines powered '68 Camaro of Dewayne Silance
who won the last EOPM event. A Nitrous versus Blower
finale for the first time this season at Dunn Benson
Dragstrip and second time for the EOPM. Kevin Mayer
in the blown 41 Willy's went to an EOPM final
against Glenn Jones in the Buck powered 63 Vette
earlier this season at Northeast Dragway.
As
the tree dropped Dewayne Silance would leave first
with a .032 light to Andy Beal's .055. At the finish
line Beal would pick up the win with a 4.061 over
Silance's 4.107 giving the non nitrous assisted
teams of the EOPM their first win. "The South wins
another one! Whats that 5 wins for the south, and 1
for the north?" said Chris Croom EOPM south adviser.
"This was another awesome event at Dunn Benson
Dragstrip with a good car count, and two of our
sponsors represented in the finals with Buck Racing
Engines, and Beal Racing Engines," said Stuart
Williams of EOPM. "Their were some teams such as
Ricky Walton, Robert Morris, Glenn Jones, and Dave
Leonardo who came out to support us, and hope we can
put together a totally separate field of qualifying.
We are working on it as the EOPM, and Dunn Benson
want all the racers to feel like they can compete
here and truly make this the Doorslammer Capitol of
the East Coast. We are also very proud, and happy
for Edward Wilson who has come a long way with his
program since his first race with us," Williams
finished.
We also had several teams compete for the first time
and we would like to thank them for bearing the heat
with us to give the fans an awesome show. It was
Chris Rini, Tommy Mauney, Dwayne White, Robert
Morris, and two-time NEOPMA Nitrous Champion Jeff
Blasi's first outing with the EOPM and we hope to
see them all again as we need them. We also thank
Van the Man of Drag Illustrated, Extreme
Motorsports, Rupture Street Wear, and Robert Keene
Photo's for coming out.
"I
look at this race in this extreme heat that made
some cancel, and we had many teams who did not make
the trip due to the heat, and some because their
cars were not ready in time. I would not be
surprised to see a car count exceed 25 before the
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals in October with all
this support we are getting from the racers,
especially if we can obtain a second qualifying
field," said Karon Woodward of EOPM. Many teams
competed in their third event with us this weekend,
and have become eligible for the EOPM Nationals
which is shaping up to be just awesome. Watch for
upcoming news as sponsors step up to be apart of
this highly anticipated event, and we continue to
work hard to be better.

Custom T's to have EOPM
compete at VMP!! |
(7-14-2010)
FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The guys at Extreme Outlaw Pro
Mod could not be any happier after receiving some
very exciting news today.
"We announced earlier this season that long time
supporter and sponsor, Larry Thompson would be
working with the EOPM to put on a show which was
scheduled to be at Capitol Raceway August 14th. That
date has now been changed to August 28th, and will
be at one of the premier tracks on the entire East
Coast, Virginia Motorsports Park," said Stuart
Williams.
Larry Thompson of Custom T's of DC felt that the
change of facility gave everything a much better
chance of succeeding in what we are trying to do,
with VMP being in a more centralized location
between the north and south teams.
Keeping with the motto of the Extreme Outlaw Pro
Mods of setting a new standard in outlaw pro mod
racing the purse has also been increased. It will be
$2000 to the winner, $1000 to runner up, $750 for
semis, and $500 for first round loser in EOPM quick
8, with free entry for car and driver.
"We
asked Larry about making some changes to give him,
and the fans the absolute best possible race we
could, and the man stepped up and has given us the
largest payout that we have ever seen in this area
for this style of racing. We thank him for believing
in us, but now its time to work as this will be a
very important race for the EOPM, as we are always
looking down the road at a broader picture," said
Williams.
Already EOPM sponsor, Tom Tillman Race Cars has
stepped up, and will award the low qualifier at VMP
with an extra $200. "We have talked to several EOPM
north teams today, who are, to say the least,
ecstatic about this race. The first thing they all
say is, now lets see how many south teams are going
to come play on August 28th in our backyard," said
Shawn Kelly of EOPM.
This train hasn't slowed down since it took off in
January as we keep rolling, rolling, rolling,
rolling, keep rolling, rolling, rolling, rolling!
Stay tuned for more news coming from K&S
Productions, the EOPM, and Dunn Benson Dragstrip.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA – On July 24th the Extreme Outlaw
Pro Mods will return to the New Dunn-Benson
Dragstrip for the EOPM Showdown 3 Summer Shootout.
The EOPM competitors will once again have an added
bonus as Lake Anna Motorsports and
Williams
Concrete will
each put up $200 towards low qualifier money.
Therefore after three awesome rounds of qualifying,
whoever sits on top of the qualifying sheets will
earn an extra $400.
"It's definitely promising to be another awesome
race with all the guys who have talked to us the
last few weeks," said Stuart
Williams of EOPM.
In addition to the normal payout of $3000 to win,
$1500 runner up, $1250 semis, and $800 for the first
round loser for the main show Dunn-Benson Dragstrip

winner and $400 to the runner up to add excitement
to the show for the great fans.
Dunn Benson Dragstrip and the Extreme Outlaw Pro
Mods are on a mission to give the competitors the
best place to compete for Pro Mod action on the East
Coast to give the fans the best show possible.
"We may possibly try having two separate fields of qualifying for
different payouts at one of these EOPM events before
the end of this season. The reason being is we want
all the Pro Mods being able to compete, but its just
an idea to make things better at this point," said
Williams.
We
would also like to announce the official payout for
the 1st Annual Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals at
Dunn-Benson Dragstrip on October 16th. It will be
$5000 to the winner, $2000 to the runner up, $1250
to the semi-finalist, and $800 to first round loser.
We will also have a consolation race paying the
winner $1500 and the runner up $800.
To be eligible for the EOPM Nationals competitors
will need to have competed in three EOPM events
before the Nationals. Many sponsors are already
showing support for this event which will most
likely change the purse also.
"We want to put as many Pro Mod teams on the grounds
as we can to give the fans a show they will never
forget," said Shawn Kelly of EOPM.
We definitely have to thank Ralph Duggins of Lake
Anna Motorsports and Stuart
Williams of
Williams
Concrete
for the support of this race. July 24th the Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mods return to Dunn Benson Dragstrip.

Silance victorious at
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Showdown 2!! |
(6-6-2010)
BENSON, NC – The place to be on Saturday, June 5th
once again was the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Showdown
at the New Dunn-Benson Dragstrip.
The EOPM did not disappoint the heads up doorslammer
fans who came out despite a fast moving afternoon
thunderstorm. The energized staff at Dunn-Benson
worked fast at drying the facility with state of the
art equipment.
In round number one of qualifying, Andy Jensen
representing the EOPM North would set the pace as
the first car to hit the concrete, and put a 4.07 on
the board. Ronnie Gardner would run a 4.09, and
Brian Williams would run a 4.11 to also highlight
the first round of qualifying.
When it was time for the third and final round of
qualifying, Yarborough, Smith, Rivenbank, McNeil,
Leonardo, Jones, DeSoto, Teachman, Wilson, Chester,
Varner, Baucom, Beal, Gardner, Jensen, Hayes,
Williams, and Silance would all be in the staging
the lanes prepared to give the show they paid for.
At the end Dewayne Silance would be the Number 1 man
with a 4.027 blast. Brian Williams with Todd T.
handling the tuning duties would be number 2 with a
4.045. Marc Hayes would be in the third spot with a
4.048. Andy Jensen would place 4th with a 4.057.
Ronnie Gardner would hold 5th with a 4.059. EOPM
sponsor Andy Beal would take the number 6 spot with
a 4.081. Bobby Baucom would capture the seventh spot
with a 4.086 and Buzz Varner would hold the eighth
spot with a 4.117.
In
the first round Dewayne Silance would take the win
light over Buzz Varner with a 4.04 to a losing 5.02.
Silance would go on to take out Andy Jensen with a
4.03 to a losing 5.24 to advance Silance for his
first final round appearance with the new Charlie
Buck powered Jerry Bickell '68 Camaro. Jensen had
shattered his track record with an awesome 3.92 shot
picking up an extra $500 from DB Dragstrip for the
fastest 3 second pass of the night.
On the other side of the elimination ladder Marc
"the Truth" Hayes would eliminate Andy Beal in the
first round with a 4.14 over Beal's 5.46. In the
second round Hayes would get a bye as Bobby Baucom
would not be able to make the call after running a
3.976 in the first round of eliminations.
The final round would be set with number 1
qualifier, Dewayne Silance against number 3
qualifier Marc Hayes. Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod South
versus North, with a battle of the some of the top
engine builders, Buck vs Fulton.
Dewayne
would take the win with a 4.06 over Hayes 8.41.
Great job to all the teams who competed!
I could be wrong but I believe some personal bests
were achieved with Brian Williams running his
fastest ET along with Edward Wilson. Bill De'Soto
and Chuck Demere also ran their best ET with the new
car.
Racers don't forget about the EOPM Nationals coming
in October at Dunn Benson. You will need to compete
in at least 3 EOPM races to compete in this season
ending event where Dunn Benson will put up an
awesome purse.

fourth with a 4.227.
Engine builder/tuner Chuck Demeree would get Bill De'Soto, and Dave
Leonardo into the field with Ricky Walton, and Wayne Chambers also
breaking in the top 8. Chambers would qualify fifth with a personal
best 4.271.
In the first round of eliminations David Campbell would take the win
over the wild supercharged truck of Dave Leonardo. RB Smith would
take the win over "Wild Bill" De'Soto. Jim Teachman
would
take the win over Wayne Chambers as Chambers was unable to take the
tree. Ricky Walton would advance to round 2 as Travis Harvey was
unable to make the call.
In the semifinals, RB Smith would win over David Campbell while Jim
Teachman took out Ricky Walton.
In the final round both cars ran very well but it would be Roxboro's
own living legend Hall of Famer, RB Smith to the stripe first.
Great job to all the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod teams.
Watch out for the unqualified ProCharged '63 Vette from Virginia
Speed Race Cars who debuted the car but had mechanical problems.
The next stop for EOPM will be Northeast Dragway May 29th. |

Buzz Varner takes EOPM
Showdown at Dunn-Benson!! |
(5-2-2010)
BENSON, NC – Twenty awesome Pro Mod teams decided to come together
to kick off the first Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Showdown at the New
Dunn-Benson Saturday, May 1st. There were teams from the North
Carolina area, as well as Virginia, Pennsylvania, and South
Carolina.
"Man we have had some big car counts in the past, but for me it was
a lot of fun to be at the track from the time the gates opened, and
watch all the teams roll in," said Shawn Kelly of EOPM.
When it was time for the first of three qualifying passes the fans
came to their feet as they saw a few blower powered cars, nitrous
powered cars, along with a pro-charger powered car, and a turbo
powered car. After the first round of qualifying long time
Dunn-Benson competitor, RB Smith would be on top of the twenty other
competitors with a 4.207 pass in his Virginia Speed Race Cars '63 'Vette
with the big Charlie Buck horsepower. Mack Copeland in his Charlie
Buck Pro-Charged Monte Carlo would run a 4.299 to move into the
number two spot as most of the other teams had trouble getting down
a hot race track.
In round two Andy Jensen, one of two teams representing the EOPM
North would break the track record with an awesome 4.094 blast down
the all concrete surface of Dunn Benson Dragstrip. Buzz Varner of
the Don Plemmons Quick 8 Association, would take over the number two
position while Todd Tutterow would get a handle on the track, with
his Roots blown set up in the new model 'Vette which he won many
races and a championship with to move into the number three
qualifying spot. Glenn Jones in his Charlie Buck powered '63 'Vette
would land on the bump spot of the show at number eight qualifier
with a 4.262 pass.
As the air got cooler, and the cars lined up for the third, and
final qualifying shot for the first Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Showdown
at Dunn-Benson, there were a lot of awesome teams capable of moving
into the show and changing the entire order. Jim Teachman, "Flyin"
Brian Williams, Wayne Chambers, "Wild Bill" Desoto, Carol "She
Devil" Long, Andy "the real deal" Beal, R. McNiel, Dave Leonardo,
Edward Wilson, Danny Perry, Robbie Keziah, and Ronni Gardner all had
one last shot to get it done.
When the third session was over, and the smoke cleared, the fans who
were still screaming had witnessed the best qualifying sessions that
had ever happened at the facility. The track record would be
shattered, and reset again by the unbelievable turbocharged '68
Camaro of Andy Jensen with a 4.013 earning him the low qualifier
money, and plaque from TTRC . RB Smith would make good use of all
his experience competing at the New Dunn Benson with a thrilling
4.075 pass. Todd Tutterow would move into the number three spot with
a 4.136 pass. Ernie Everett would move into the number four position
with a 4.154 blast, over fifth place Buzz Varner's 4.155. Robbie
Keziah would break into the field with a 4.204. Mack Copeland would
run a 4.222 to put him in the number seven spot while Glenn Jones
would better his qualifying effort with a 4.225 to hold the number
eight spot out of 20 awesome teams.
In round number one of Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod eliminations number
five qualifier Buzz Varner and the Don Plemmons team would upset the
number one qualifier Andy Jensen with a 4.129 over Jensens 4.115.
Todd Tutterow would run a smooth 4.126 to eliminate Mack Copeland
who had a huge wheelstand. Number two qualifier RB Smith would take
out Robbie Keziah with a 4.193 as Keziah had to lift early. Ernie
Everett the number four qualifier would run a 4.163 to take out the
number eight qualifier Glenn Jones.
The
fans got ready for "the Showdown" to explode as to legends from
North Carolina were set to battle it out in the semi finals. Todd
Tutterow the current PX Champion would face another man with plenty
of wins under his belt in outlaw Pro Mod racing, Buzz Varner. In the
big nitrous versus powerful supercharger showdown the name of the
event would earn its name. Tutterow would have a .018 reaction time
to Varners .030, but Varner would have all systems loaded to pull
past Tutterow with a winning 4.105 to Tutterows losing 4.125. In the
other semi final Ernie Everett, who consistently went down the track
all day would face RB Smith. Smith would ignite a small fire out of
the scoop when he released the trans brake, while Everett coasted to
a 5.00 pass having problems.
The final would be set as Buzz Varner would face Ernie "Big E"
Everett. Varner would once again have a good reaction time with a
.028 running a 4.09 to take the win over Everett as he continued to
have problems running a 5.184.
"There was some bad teams in the house tonight that we believe have
now set a new standard at the New Dunn-Benson. We can't wait until
June 5th when the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods will return for the EOPM
Showdown 2," said Brian Williams of DB.
We appreciate all the teams for showing up to compete with Extreme
Outlaw Pro Mod. It was possibly one of the best all around shows in
quite awhile, that definitely raised the bar in outlaw racing. The
EOPM will be at Roxboro Motorsports Park next on May 15th which is
promising to be another war between EOPM North and South. There was
also a consolation race at Dunn-Benson, the results of which can be
seen on our forums.

EOPM
South teams prepare for first Showdown at Dunn-Benson Dragstrip!! |
(4-28-2010)
BENSON, NC – The most anticipated race on the east coast will happen
this Saturday, May 1st, at the New Dunn-Benson Dragstrip. The first
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Showdown is here, and the EOPM south teams
are not taking it lightly to say the least.
"We have gotten more calls for this event than we ever have for any
other single event, since we have been doing this type of thing. One
of the most fierce, and respected competitors in pro mod racing even
called myself, and Brian of Dunn-Benson this week" said Stuart
Williams of EOPM. The Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod south teams are
definitely ready for war at the EOPM Showdown with an awesome list
of teams locked and loaded as they say.
RB Smith in his Charlie Buck powered 63 Vette, David Campbell in his
Eagle powered 70.5 Camaro, and Wayne Chambers in his Nesbitt powered
Grand Am were all at the EOPM season opener are expected to be
joined by a huge list of south teams. Leading the south charge will
be Brian Williams, along with EOPM sponsor Andy Beal, Danny Perry
who is possibly the hottest driver on the east coast, Mack Copeland,
Robbie Kezhia, Ernie Everett, Lorenzo Springfield, Jason Harris, and
Bill De'Soto to name a few. "The list is long, but we won’t give it
all away as there are a lot of surprises looking forward to
competing in this event. Qualifying promises to be very exciting for
the fans, as the lanes should be jam packed with those expected"
said Williams.
Talking with Brian Williams over the last few weeks we have found
out some things that the racers and fans may want to know. The track
record is presently a 4.12 which the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods plan to
shatter a few times.
The payout for the quick 8 is $3000 to win, $1500 runner up, $1250
semi finals, and $800 for first round loser along with free entry
fee for car and driver. Track owner Brian Williams has also stated
that he will have a consolation race if there are enough cars.
Last
week another great Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod sponsor, TTRC (Tom Tillman
Race Cars) committed to sponsor the low qualifier with a $250
reward. K&S Productions will also present an awesome plaque for the
low qualifier, along with a trophy for the winner of the first
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Showdown winner at the New Dunn Benson
Dragstrip.
Also starting at this event will be the Hitman program. "This is a
program we used in the past to bring more excitement to the fans at
our events, and it’s very simple. The winner of this event will be a
targeted man by the rest of the EOPM. The team who defeats the Dunn
Benson winner at the next EOPM event during eliminations will
receive $100 reward for taking out the target, and become the
target" said Stuart.
If the winner does not compete at the next event, then the winner of
that event will be the new target. The Hitman money which could also
use a title sponsor will grow each event that the Dunn-Benson winner
is not defeated. Who will be the first target?? Be there May 1st, as
the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods and Dunn-Benson Dragstrip will be the
place to be.

Extreme Outlaw
Pro Mod North teams prepare for Dunn-Benson Showdown!! |
(4-22-2010)
FREDERICKSBURG, VA – On Saturday, May 1st the hottest club on the
East Coast, the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods, will bring the "New Show"
to the New Dunn-Benson Dragstrip.
"We have five EOPM events this season with Dunn-Benson, and we can't
wait to kick it off with this first one on May 1st. Working with
Brian Williams of D-B has just been awesome so far, which is
promising to ensure the growth of both his facility and this club,"
said Stuart Williams of EOPM.
As always the war between EOPM North and South teams has fans, and
teams alike talking. Earlier today James "The Showstopper" Cecil
confirmed that he will be making his first hits of the year in his
DMPE supercharged 2002 Camaro at Dunn Benson, but is confident of
bringing the trophy, and the track record back up north and had this
to say, "The man at Dunn-Benson competes at this level, therefore he
understands what it takes to race these cars, and it shows in the
purse he is putting up for this club. How do you not go support
that?" said Cecil. "I'm confident in our team, but we are hoping
that the Hillbillies, with driver Terry Dehaven come back us up as a
fellow supercharged car, as we hear the rumors of the new bullet
that Brian Williams has waiting on all the blower teams," Cecil
finished.
Jim "Mr. Reliable" Teachman says he can't wait to bring his Fulton
powered Virginia Speed Race Cars '57 Chevy to the New Dunn-Benson
Dragstrip. Ricky Walton and Troy "Short Dog" Henderson also plan to
make the trip to represent the EOPM north. Henderson, who won the
first Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod event at Roxboro, also stated that he
would like to extend an invitation to Charles Kelly to participate
at this great facility, where they could get their long lasting
grudge settled during the qualifying rounds.
Also
confirmed to be at the first EOPM Showdown at the New Dunn Benson
Dragstrip is Andy Jensen. Jensen, who has not been out much this
season yet either, hopes to get in some testing friday with their
awesome small block turbo powered '68 Camaro along with Cecil.
We have a few other guys who are strong possibilities to take the
ride down south to compete, but each are basically game time
decisions. Bill Meadows in his naturally aspirated Kaase powered
Grand Am, Micheal Knight in his PAR powered Cavalier, Jeremy Hoy in
his Charlie Buck powered '63 Vette, and Ted Smith in his big Fulton
powered Camaro are all strong possibles.
Once again working with EOPM any way he can, Brian Williams said
that he would definitely have a consolation race if there are enough
competitors on the grounds May 1st. He also let us know that
although the track is closed on Friday, if there are enough cars who
want to test Friday night he would open, and have the track ready
for war. Please check out
www.dunnbensondragstrip.com for more
information. You can contact Stuart Williams at 1-540-408-6296 if
you're interested in the test session.

Henderson brings Buck Engines 1st Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Win!!! |
(4-6-2010)
TIMBERLAKE, NC -
First and foremost, the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods would like to thank
and give all the glory to God for being able to do what we love. On
April 3rd and 4th, the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods brung the
"New Show" to Roxboro Motorsports Dragway. "It was great to be back
at Roxboro Motorsports Dragway. It was their first pro mod event
since June of last year, and ran smoothly, and we are
thankful that general manager, Allan Carpenter has given us the
opportunity to compete there again" said Stuart Williams. This is
just the start of what promises to be an exciting season with EOPM.
On Saturday, the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods kicked off the season with
3 rounds of qualifying at Roxboro Motorsports Dragway’s largest
event of the year, the Easter Bash, EOPM Spring Nationals. When it
was time for the first round of qualifying, 11 cars were in the
staging lanes, which quickly brung the fans to their feet, for side
by side, heads up doorslammer action. For many of these teams, it
would be their first time out for the year, and everyone stood a
chance at getting in the quick 8 field. On his very first pass of
the year, Bobby Leonard of L&H Race Cars would drop the hammer for
the EOPM south with a 4.206 to claim the number one qualifying
spot. After all three rounds of qualifying were
complete, Leonard’s 4.206 pass would be enough to keep him on top of
the field. Jim Teachman in his Virginia Speed Race Cars 57 Chevy
would take the number 2 spot with a stout 4.22 pass. Troy Henderson
in his Charlie Buck powered Tom Tillman Race Cars 68 Camaro would
place number 3 with a 4.30. Marc "The Truth" Hayes, who was trying
out his new air shifters, would round out the top 4 in his Fulton
powered Cavalier with a 4.31. RB Smith, David Campbell, Ricky
Walton, and Wayne Chambers would qualify for the remaining EOPM
quick 8 spots.
On
elimination day, the battle between Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod North &
South would heat up as there were 4 cars representing each side of
the line. Bobby Leonard, RB Smith, David Campbell, and Wayne
Chambers for the south and Jim Teachman, Troy Henderson, Marc Hayes,
and Ricky Walton for the north. In the first round Marc Hayes would
take out Roxboro Hall of Famer RB Smith with a 4.202 over a 4.49.
Troy "Short Dog" Henderson would take out Big Dog standout, David
Campbell with a 4.27, as Campbell’s car had problems when the lights
came down and lost fire. Jim Teachman, with Joe Lepone Jr.
assisting with the tuning duties, would take out Ricky Walton with a
4.25 to a losing 4.81. Wayne Chambers would take a competition bye
as the number 1 qualifier Bobby Leonard was unable to make the
call.
Ricky Walton who finished number 3 in the points last season with
the Pro Outlaw Doorslammers was awarded his POD trophy over the
weekend, along with Maurice Bea who finished number 2, and Bobby
Leonard of L&H Race Cars who is the Pro Outlaw Doorslammers
reigning Champion.
In the semi-finals of the inaugural EOPM Spring Nationals, Marc "The
Truth" Hayes would get the win over Wayne Chambers with a 4.225 over
a 6.84, as Chambers beautiful Grand Am would continue to pull to
centerline at the launch. Troy "Short Dog" Henderson would turn on
the win light over Jim Teachman with a 4.34 over a 4.23, as Teachman
had problems with his trans brake releasing according to Lepone.
The Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod final would be set with two north
teams going head to head. Short Dog vs. The Truth, Hayes vs.
Henderson, Fulton vs. Buck, but still north EOPM vs. north EOPM. As
the lights dropped, Hayes would have a great starting line
advantage, but as they neared half track Hayes would get out the
groove unsettling the car just enough for Henderson to pass, and get
to the stripe first with a 4.307 over a losing 4.444.
"Despite a relatively low car count for what we are accustomed to,
it turned out to be a very good first show. We had a lot of fans
asking where the next Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod event would be, and
when will we be returning to Roxboro
Motorsports
Dragway" said Stuart Williams of EOPM. We also had a lot of racers
support by attending the race to help teams, and spectate because
their cars just were not ready yet, and we thank them. We
definitely want to thank L&H Racecars, Beal Racing Engines, Virginia
Speed Racecars, Rupture Street Wear, Tom Tillman Race Cars, Buck
Racing Engines, Dan River Window Company, and K&S Productions for
their continued support. Great job to Troy Henderson and H&P
Motorsports on their win representing Tom Tillman Race Cars, Parker
Trucking, and Buck Racing Engines.

Dunn Benson Dragstrip to host Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals!!! |
|
(3-31-2010)
BENSON, NC - Earlier this week, Stuart Williams of Extreme Outlaw
Pro Mod got a reassuring call from Mr. Brian Williams, owner of the
New Dunn Benson Dragstrip. Brian Williams thanked and commended
Stuart for all the promotion of this new club along with his track.
"After
a few minutes of conversation, Brian just took me by surprise. He
asked me if the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods could take a few more dates
at his track" said Stuart. It was then the phone call was made
crystal clear.
Brian
Williams and his staff at the New Dunn Benson Dragstrip had decided
to postpone their Top Dawg program for this season. Therefore, Dunn
Benson Dragstrip will replace the Top Dawg dates with Extreme Outlaw
Pro Mod. "At this time there just is not enough participation for
the Top Dawg events, and whenever we do want to compete by the Dog
rules, than we can race at Big Dog" said Brian Williams.
After
receiving the new dates, Stuart and Brian quickly came up with the
idea of having October 16th be the first annual EOPM Nationals at
the New Dunn Benson Dragstrip. "We are very excited about this
development, and will be throwing ideas back and forth over the next
month before any details are finalized. We want this to be an
exciting event for the competitors and the fans alike" said Stuart.
All
the dates can be seen on the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod schedule page.
We definitely want to thank Brian Williams and the Dunn Benson staff
for putting their trust in us, that we can help each other grow
fast.

Roxboro
Motorsports Park to host 1st Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Spring
Nationals!!! |
|
(1-21-2010)
FREDERICKSBURG, VA – Exciting news was finalized today by Stuart
Williams of the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods, and Alan Carpenter of
Roxboro Motorsports Park. On April 3rd and 4th Roxboro Motorsports
Park will host the first annual Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Spring
Nationals as part of its famous Easter Bash weekend.

"We have built a great relationship with these guys over the years,
which made it easy for us to decide, that we wanted to be a part of
the growth of this new organization" said General Manager Alan
Carpenter. "This first annual Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Spring
Nationals will be a 2 day event with a $10,000 payout. It will be a
Quick 8 race, but will also have a consolation race for those who
dont qualify for the main event" Carpenter went on to say. "It is
great for me to be back at Roxboro Motorsports Park after a leave of
absence last season. We have done some work to the track, and are
scheduled to have Penhall come in to grind and polish the track
soon," Carpenter finished.
K&S Productions will be handling the promoting, and event coverage.
"We will definitely be bringing our "A game" for this one" said
Shawn Kelly of K&S. "We plan to try a few new things with our
coverage for the EOPM, including online video footage clips during
some races, and more detail to our posted results. This new club is
alot of work, but its fun again. I mean me, Karon, and Stuart talk
two or three times a day, and there is so much potential for the
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods when guys work so well together," Kelly went
on to say.
"The new logo is done and looks awesome thanks to Dell Purifoy at
EastCoastDragRacingNetwork.com who is also working on our new site.
Things are coming together very fast and I'm amazed at how fast
Stuart and Karon work," Kelly said.
"It speaks volumes that Roxboro will not only support this new
organization, but work very closely with us to bring the best
possible show to the fans it can, and we thank them for the
opportunity," said Stuart Williams. "Alan Carpenter and myself had
something else in mind, but the promotion team of K&S productions
had this idea, and now its a done deal, and I can't wait. With the
help of James Cecil of Rupture, Bobby & Robert of L&H Racecars, Avis
Sutherland of Dan River Window Company, Tom Tillman Racecars, and
Charlie Buck Racing Engines this will just get bigger and better.
What a way to open the year," said Williams.
So mark your calenders for April 3rd and 4th for the EOPM Spring
Nationals and be ready for "The New Show" to Bring It, Don't Sing
It.

K&S
Productions announce Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods |
|
(1-16-2010)
FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The year 2010 will mark
the beginning of a new era in heads up
doorslammer action on the East Coast. Karon
Woodward and Shawn Kelly of K&S Productions,
along with Stuart Williams have started laying
the groundwork to bring out a new heads up,
bring it don't sing it doorslammer club named
the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods.
 |
 |
That groundwork over the
last few days has consisted of gaining
dedicated and reliable sponsors, and tracks
for the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods 2010 season.
We are very proud to announce the Rupture
Street Wear and L&H Racecars have committed to
being major sponsors thanks to James Cecil at
Rupture and Bobby Leonard at L&H.
Avis Sutherland of Dan River Window Company,
and Tom Tillman Racecars have also committed
to helping get this new club into high gear. |

So far Sumerduck Dragway, Northeast Dragway,
and Roxboro Motorsports Park are all dedicated
to working with K&S Productions to help
getting the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods started.
Roxboro Motorsports Park will also be calling
on K&S to promote their new monthly series
called
"The Bad Dog".

At our first Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod event we
will be presenting Bobby Leonard and Robert
Hayes with a trophy for winning the 2009 Pro
Outlaw Doorslammers Championship. "Bobby and
Robert traveled alot, worked hard, and did a
hell of a job supporting the P.O.D. last
season, and it is only right to award them
with the trophy that they deserve," said Shawn
Kelly. L&H Racecars not only won the P.O.D.
championship, but was also title sponsor of a
P.O.D. event at Virginia Motorsports Park.
Avis Sutherland of Dan River Window Company
helped Stuart Williams gain many sponsors for
the first and only Pro Outlaw Doorslammer
Nationals at Roxboro Motorsports Park in 2008.
James Cecil of Rupture Street Wear owns
several track records including the e.t record
at Northeast Dragway and cant wait to return
in 2010.

"It is an exciting time starting a new club,
just as it was when we started the P.O.D.,"
said Stuart Williams. "Sometimes its just
better to make a fresh start. Over the last
few years K&S and myself have learned alot by
doing the work we did in the P.O.D. and we
plan to implement all that knowledge to ensure
a fast success in this new venture," Williams
finished.
 |
|
The
absolute purpose of the
Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods is to continue to
have a place for our peers to compete, and
have fun where the leadership has a
passion for doing what they do to ensure
that the club is the best it can be.
We are actively seeking new tracks
to compete at and
bring the "New Show", and seeking sponsors
to help make things better.
The ball is rolling, but there is alot of
work to do before we are ready to begin
the first EOPM season. |
 |
|
|
We would like to thank James
Cecil of Rupture Street Wear, L&H Racecars,
Dan River Window Company, Tom Tillman
Racecars, Roxboro Motorsports Park, Northeast
Dragway, and Sumerduck Dragway for their

website for EOPM.
